Went by yesterday and could not find my birds. Today I spotted them across the pond, too far to shoot. When they saw me they immediately started toward me and ended up about 15 feet away where I got these shots. They do not like missing a photo op........The download tells the story......

5 shots

Nikon D7100 with 55-300 lens.

Ok, so it's not a sandhill. But it's MY thread......

He/she is getting big!! Great set Jim!
Question.... Do they usually have only one baby and what's the story with the last shot..... Are these different, tame birds? :-D

The most babies I've ever seen was two, and one of them disappeared fairly quickly. Probably a hawk or a gator. LOL These birds are afraid of nothing. My shots are mostly within 15 to 20 feet. The shopping center birds are not the same ones, but I doubt they are tame. I was just driving through the parking lot and there they were.....Just had to take a shot.....That lady was having a ball, feeding them potato chips.

Thanks for looking and commenting. It's always appreciated.
