How do you like this slant of your photo?

too much frame for me.

Ok, I get it. You don't like frames. No need to post this on every photo with a frame because I like frames. :)

actually, I do like frames and I use them.... no more about that.

I think it would be an even greater picture if the piece of belt was removed.

I didn't even notice that. My bad.

I would like to start a thread, just for fun, of your WORST pic ever...I would start, but of course, I don't have a worse pic...LOL, honestly, I have so many I don't know where to start....so, the floor is open....

This could be huge grins!

Pretty much ANY in this series on THIS particular day.
I snapped like 130 photos and came away with 5 worth saving and working with. These are DUDS that weren't even worth working with, but I saved to sacrifice to editing programs should I screw them up! LOL

The water was crystal clear that day, but ... what's the word? "brackish" I guess? The creek-bed is the same color as the water was as was everything IN the water... and the reflection showed too.

What I SAW and the camera didn't capture (rather I didn't know how to make the camera capture) was reflection on crystal clear water AND what was under the water, simultaneously.

Guess it thought I wanted it to choose something and ignore the rest! lol

(Okay! *tap tap* tap* when's it YOUR turn? it's your thread! lol)

These do look pretty bad, don't they? I have to see if I can beat them.

I have not, but it intrigues me. Can one really just buy a filter? All the posted shots here look great.

Look for the Hoya R-72 Infrared Filter. Make sure that it will fit your lens ;)

If you have on older or unused DSLR sitting around you can also send it out for being converted for IR only. Of course that's all it will do then, but it's a way to go.

Thanks for the advice. I googled to see ir filters and became quite confused because there were so many .

I do have an old unused dslr, but it needs about $250 worth of repair and then it costs several hundred I believe to have it converted. It sounds like a filter is the way to go.

Of course, some programs have an ir filter, yes?

This is definitely something to think about.

As a rule I do a low format to whenever I want to wipe the slate clean - my problem is I have a bad habit of always keeping at least a few on and then adding to. I'm guessing one should, but many don't.

I download, organize, make sure I have all the pictures securely on my computer and backed up too ... then I format, that is erase all.

It's amazing how many pictures you can wind up never quite getting around to erasing! That's ok, I guess, if you are going to use your memory cards as storage, but if that's not your intent, sooner of later you'll need that room and discover your cards are full!

So true... I once got caught on a trip with a card that I was sure was empty. It was full of ghosts of photos past. Then I figured I would reformat every once in a while. On another post, I learned that erasing was not good for your card so now I reformat each time I download.

I try to download every nite.... especially on a trip.

So there I was in Arizona. Never been there before. New camera, and wow, look at that cool scenery.

I came home with almost 1000 pictures. It took me MONTHS to sort the out. What do you do with 100 almost identical shots of the Grand Canyon? I should have downloaded to my laptop and sorted nightly. I could have avoided the nightmare.

Being a hoarder ... whether it be cats, old newspapers, or photographs, can be unhealthy!

I am with you. You never know when something will be useful... usually 5 minutes after it is GONE!
