There are no deals on anything anywhere a cruise ship stops.

I've ordered many third party batteries and have not had one problem. Only issue I can recall is that one camera wouldn't show the battery meter using the aftermarket battery but that was so long ago I don't remember which unit it was. Almost all original equipment batteries are made in China, also, and probably from the same plants.

I think you did better with your phone than some people do with a 'real' camera.

The M16 I carried through most of my time in the jungle was an M16 E-1 Experimental Model made by General Motors Hydra-Matic Division. I think every vet who buys a Chevy should be presented with one. We know how to use them.

Bill, I wish I had a dollar for every Honda or Toyota is see with a 'Veteran' plate on it. Then I'd give you a dollar back for every Chevy with the same plate and I'll take a cruise on what I have left.

Mary Kate, you're not rambling. A very interesting story.

I've found that 3.0 is 10 times faster on my laptops when downloading an SDXC card. On 2.0 I used to start a download and then go do some house work. Now I start it, go to the bathroom and it's done when I come back.

All the businesses mentioned are quality organizations but they all operate under the old mantra of antique dealers...I buy junk and sell antiques. They can only offer you a fraction of what the gear is worth.

I can't speak about Mexico City but my family traveled to Cancun for a wedding a few months ago and the $500 a night compound they stayed at had armed guards at the gate who told them to stay inside and not go out exploring.

While a 300 mm prime will outperform the 55-250 at the long end it's too close to make much difference. The 100-400 sounds good but it's big. Forget changing lenses in the vehicle. At times you'll have your hands full just holding on to your camera. I started packing my stuff for a safari 3 years ago and when I looked at what I planned to bring I walked away from it and got a Fuji superzoom and a GoPro and never regretted it.

If I'm reading it right you knew the lens sells for $1500-1600. I'm curious why you jumped on this one for $1500? I feel bad for you but your story is probably like a lot of crime victims. Only a small percentage ever speak up.

Depending on how many prints you do in a year the Costco membership may more than pay for itself. If you have one near you the gas station would make it a slam dunk.

Hey, Tet68. I'm curious what model GoPro you have? I have a Hero 3+ and almost need an assistant to hand me batteries. I have original and high capacity batts and I'm lucky to get 20 minutes of video on a charge.
