This guy looks really good. I take it you were at the end of your reach with the 300mm. Think you'd have more impact if you'd reached in a little more and just had face and eyes. Alternative is do a square crop and lose bit of hand which is distracting.
Yes, I was all the way out on the 300mm. Point taken on the crop.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments - really appreciate them. To tell the truth I had mixed emotions about this picture up. I get a little sad looking at my own photograph. He looks lonely to me - even though there are other gorillas with him and it's a nice size enclosure. I have other pictures of him that I didn't put up because they made me sad.
I like the portrait. I wonder how it would look if hand and head were not slightly cut off. Might take some of the impact away from the crop on the face. Not sure.
Thats a nice park. Condre hall is in huntington. Its off leash but there are no gates. Its beautiful...at an old estate overlooking the harbor.
Aha. Luckily my dog stays with me pretty much so we don't need fences unless its close to a street. We also walk around the Kings Park Psych center grounds alot. Its huge and within walking distance of our house.
Which one do you go to? Blydenberg? This was at Condre Hall...such a pretty place!
Yes Bydenberg. We walk around the lake too. He loves to jump in the lake no matter how cold it is - even when there's snow on the ground. I don't know where Condre Hall is.
