Fine work! Looks a bit like Roza Shanina. History of these women is amazing and worth a search and read.

Yes, I think so too. Many brave women fought for the Red Army, also of course the Night Witches!

Very nice work on your part. Is that a representation of Lyudmila Pavlichenko, or just a generic Russian female sniper?

It could be, but I think looks a little more like Roza Shanina!

Wow, amazing work, the detail. Hope she was sniper(ing) for Nazis and regular German army invaders! My wife says she just learned that Soviet women were commonly fighting in WWII. Are you doing the rest of the body? Any totally finished pieces? Far more complicated than wood duck carving.

This is just the "bust" version in 1/10th scale which is approximately3" tall, but I do have the full size model in 1/16th scale to do also.

Fantastic work. What is the size of the figure?

It's a 1/10th scale bust by Life Miniatures and is approximately 3" tall, a mix of oils for the face, and the rest acrylics.

They are Fallow deer, there are around 700 at the park. They were reportedly hunted by King Henry the V111 in the 1500s.

Very nice results.

You used the word "busts," and this appeared as an ad.

Incredible art and outstanding photography

I am wondering is this from one block of wood and if so what type of wood.

Thanks for sharing

Chuck

Sorry if I gave that impression! No it's a 1/10 th scale resin bust, made by "Nuts Planet", I just painted it. I wish I could carve like that though!

Thanks John, it was shot on the EM1 MK3 and the 12-40 F2.8 Pro.

If this something that you carved, I'm speechless for it is beyond any praise that I could give you.

No, I wish I could! The bust is from "Nuts Planet" a Korean company, they produce great sculpts, I just painted it.
