I have asked myself this recently and I am reading a book that among other things, promises to “ and finish with how to find your purpose in photography.”

That is a bold claim and something I have asked myself more than once. There is no single answer of course, because it is subjective subject.

So I am curious, what do readers here say in response to “What is your purpose in photography?“

2 things, Personal enjoyment, esp looking back, and showing others things I've seen.

Thirty four years ago on this date, I some big bad cancer removed. As Minnie Pearl would say, "I'm just s' glad t' be here!"
I've had soooo many speed bumps, hills and mountains to spring up in front of me, but it seems like God always shouted "That's no hill for a stepper" so I'm still here for now.

I was with a group of people last night, and a conversation began about smart watches. A woman said she fell, and she heard someone ask if she was all right. It was her watch. She told it she was fine, and the watch asked, "Are you sure?" Another woman said she was driving her car, and she heard someone talking to her. It was her watch relaying a phone call. Another woman said she was talking to her husband about the temperature, and her TV said, "The temperature is 48 degrees." She said she has a Google TV. I didn't know there was such a thing.

That is just too weird and creepy for me.

At Mt. Pleasant, Utah and their historic buildings. We love to drive through these old towns and capture their beauty. Architecture today seems so sterile by comparison. This will probably be a multi part series to showcase Mt. Pleasant before moving on to other locations.

This marten attracts a lot of attention between Silver Gate and Cooke City. A lady feeding birds also feeds the pine marten occasionally. It is unusual to see pine martens because they are mostly nocturnal and they are solitary. I hope you enjoy.

Life Before the Computer

Memory was something that you lost with age
An Application was for employment
A Cursor was someone who used profanity
A Program was a TV show
A Keyboard was a piano
A Web was a spider’s home
A Virus was the flu
A CD was a bank account
A Hard Drive was a long trip on a bad road
A Mouse Pad was where a mouse lived
And if you had a 3 ½ floppy … you just hoped nobody found out!

Man, these folks are spending a huge amount of money on ads! You can hardly watch TV without one of their ads coming up in just about every break and I get at least 20 to 30 e-mail ads a week as well. Now they have even re-branded the product to pull in male customers by calling it "Mando." Personally, I would rather stink than buy this product due to all the annoying ads! Just wondering if anyone else here is sick of hearing about it as well and needed to vent a bit. Good luck and good photography to all.

Yes. Down the end of the road. Parked by the restrooms and walked across to the shore.

Like that area too, usually stay in wells, block off the beach, Mile Rd., nice overlook to have coffee on as the sun comes up, not sure when our next trip is coming, not scheduled yet.
