Not to mention that additional hands might have to be brought on by states to handle the tax remittances.

Wonder what the effect will be on those states that do not have sales tax, like Texas for example. Will Texas create a sales tax? Heaven knows that state sales taxes do bring in additional revenue for their treasuries.

Who told you that Texas didn't have sales tax? They have no state income tax but certainly have sales tax.

Many thanks for sharing. I don't know what my political views are at the moment but I can remember being sickened by the treatment of the returning soldiers, both as a youngster and now.

You are most welcome and I agree about the treatment of the returnees then. Made me want to shoot them!

Thanks for posting that! He did an outstanding job of capturing the essence of that terrible war that many of us got involved in. That's one of the best collections I've seen.

You are certainly welcome. I was also impressed.

krgatlgm, with your permission, I will go off topic. In 1966, when you were in high school, I already had two kids. In 1070's I served as deputy sheriff in Colorado, and I am a certified police firearms instructor, or I should say, I was. For people who have things in common we sure had bumped heads for nothing. But then again, maybe it wasn't for nothing.
Have a nice day, and I mean it.

Back at ya lovesphotos! Wasn't for nothing as I have gained a lot of respect for you. Hope we talk soon and you are right, we do have a lot in common.

ps You don't even look old enough to have two kids in 1966.

lovesphotos / krgatlgm, the both of you need to step back and look at the others post.. You both are right but you do not see it. If an illegal in this country breaks our laws, that illegal has the same rights of Due Process of Law as a citizen but, an Illegal dose not have ALL THE RIGHTS of American citizen.

You are absolutely right. I got tunnel vision about due process. Thanks for "shaking me".

krgatlgm, it is not a matter of having my way. As a matter of fact, I am kind of used to not having my way. As far as illegals being given protection from being victims to crime and etc., I agree with you, and they should have the same kind of protection as anyone else as human beings. What I seem unable to do is to make you understand that they do not possess the same rights as American citizens. So, using the same words you used, have it your way, and have a nice day.

I understand now we have been talking apples and oranges. I'm talking due process and you are talking other rights that have nothing to do with due process such as voting. Since this thread started as a comment on the Miranda decision, my tunnel vision got me on a tirade about due process. You are absolutely correct that ALL rights are not bestowed upon non-citizens. I apologize if I got your blood pressure up but I think we both are more knowledgeable than we were when we started this conversation.

By the way, Miranda V Arizona, 1966 was a huge decision made be the Supreme Court! I was in high school but learned of it while in the police academy in 1971. This decision still effects the way law enforcement conducts day to day business.

The outcome of all this questioning of this person will be interesting to follow in future threads.
