Steven, Oh my gosh, it was the best camera. It wasn't a SLR, but the picture quality for aback then was amazing! It was the what they called in 1982 a Sport 35. Mine was a Pentax PC35AF. What a beefy well made camera. It had a 35mm F2.8 lens. I loved that camera...it's really the one that got me addicted to photography. Check it out...

Rip, I couldn't agree more! Everyone has their own preference for their own reason. I'm not one to care about blowing the trumpet for a manufacturer, it's just about what that product does for me. My Sony has served me very well, as has my Canon and Pentax. I've seen some amazing photo's come out of Nikon too! As you said...no wrong camera out there!

Meatyore, Good advise!! I seriously see myself going into obsession mode on camera and equipment buying! But for NOW, I just need to figure out which is going to be the better choice. I have done some reading on the Sony NEX models...(and a bunch more information yet to read) and I'm starting to think about going with the D7000 and The Telephoto Zoom - Nikon Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II, The Macro Prime - Nikon Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G AF-S VR Micro and Prime Selection - Nikon Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.4G. That's what I'm thinking now, although, I probably won't be able to buy them all at once. Stupid money!! Haha!

Blues, Thank you! #2 is one of my favorites too! I love the colors and the texture. I took 2nd place in a local photo contest with that one. I was glad that so many people enjoyed it.

Mooseeyes, yes Portland has many photo op's. If I had to live in a city I am glad it's here. You don't even have to look for subjects, you just need a little creative imagination. The Japanese gardens are so amazing...you can spend the day there and not even cover all the beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much for the warm welcome, looking forward to getting to know the wonderful folks here on UHH! :)

Thank you so very much for welcoming me to UHH! I am looking forward to getting to know you all! I'm glad you enjoyed my photo's. Humming birds are my favorite little subjects. They're fun to capture. I enjoy taking photo's of wildlife. Living in an area where I had Deer, Elk, Fox, Bear, Squirrels, Raccoon's, I was always scrambling for my camera...I got to the point that I finally put a small desk by the door, and kept my camera there. When I was out in my yard, I kept it with me. I miss living in the Mountains and look forward to returning in the near future. Thanks again fro you warm welcome! :) Have a safe and Happy Memorial Day!

Wlgoode...No there's not. Well, wait a minute...there just might be some kind of a photo page...not sure. I was only referring to it as an example of another site where arrogance and rudeness run a muck.

I grew up on Mt Hood and up until about 2 years ago, lived there until moving to Portland. Everyday, I just walked out my door and started snapping shots! Here are a few of my faves!

Katie Creek runs through my property. It always lends to a wonderful photo op.

Oldtool2, Wlgoode, Steve, and Rip...You guys are the greatest. Well...I've been on Facebook for about 6 years now...talk about DRAMA!! WOW, for a social media site...there are some pretty UNSOCIAL people! I wonder if all these grumps were just born with photography knowledge or whether they too had to learn! HA! Steve, Yes, the Carl Zeiss is definitely a good lens. I have a friend that had a set of bino's with the Zeiss lens and the clarity is amazing! Wlgoode, sounds like a real great site to visit if your into a battle of wits, whether armed or just plain bored! Hahaha!

glojo....Bless your heart!! NOOOO, It wasn't you!! Oh goodness, only one person on this forum has been rude. And that was "Scoutman". No all of the rest of you had very good questions and I don't at all mind answering...I am sorry if I didn't make it clear who was the disappointment...can we have a do over? :) You all have been so wonderful welcoming here and putting up with my somewhat ignorance...I am here to learn and share with like minded folks! I enjoy all your comments...seriously! Thank you:)
