I have to admit the grafitti is quite bad, but still like the picture, that's an awesome rock.

Congrats, it was my very close second choice, I too want
a small point and shoot, went for the sigma dp3, but know you will be happy with the Fuji results too.

bulb as in regular house hold bulb.
camera was in white balance manual, because experimenting with different settings trying to get
the picture to look close to what I see, by using different
white balance settings.
Could use auto, but not happy with result.
-1.70 EV, due to this camera having a tendancy to
over expose, showing red on the over exposed areas
during play back.
Like I said camera is new, just going thru the manual,
and learning it.
went to a park on a rainy day, hard to keep the camera dry!

I am not an expert with your camera; please check which firmware you are using, there is an update to version 1.02 which addresses some Custom White Balance problems see below for details.
Hope this helps you.

Ver. 1.02
Improves the stability of operation.
Improves the precision of bounce flash shooting when ELECTRONIC FLASH EF-610 DG SUPER SA-STTL and ELECTRONIC FLASH EF-610 DG ST SA-STTL are used.
When you enlarge an image, it used to enlarge the center of the image. However, the new firmware magnifies the image depending on the focusing position.
It is possible to select the file name of the image either from SDIM or DP3M.
It has integrated the color tones of Custom White Balance (Sunlight, Shade, Overcast, Incandescent, Fluorescent, Flash) among the DP Merrill series.
Corrects the phenomenon that the AEL setting goes back to default if the AEL button is set for "Central AEL + AEL", and alternate MF to AF or vice versa, while it is still displaying the operation icon.
Corrects the phenomenon that self-timer shooting whilst using P Mode would cancel the program shift for the customized shutter speed and aperture settings if you press the release button.
Properly displays the image according to the selected magnification
