Great advice, I'll file it away for later use if ever needed.
It sounds like maybe this guy Ann the Director are old friends . Also the Director wants to keep him on his good side weather it be for money or talent. Either way take the high road and be the bigger person. I promise you will never regret it and at some point in time he may. I know from experience vengeance is bitter sweet. It may give quick gratification but in the long run you just end up hurting yourself. Hang in there sooner or later he'll get his.
Learning! I would say you are pretty much on target with these shots. Very nice just a touch to blue for my taste though. Thanks for sharing. I'm still looking for a web site that will let you know what you can expect to see at different hours of the night. As in these photos there are times when the Milky way is more prominent than other times.
I live in eastern Iowa about 25 miles north of the Quad Cities. I would like to photograph the Milky Way. I know that basically most of the stars seen at night are from our Galaxy. What I'm looking for is the best time at night for this area and this time of year to photograph it. I guess what I'm looking for is the Milky Way sweet spot. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :-D
I'm a dog's dad. Regardless these are some very nice photos of the Kitties. My wife and I both love the eyes. As for your exposure it looks great to me on the cats. Are you shooting RAW our JPEG?

Nice photos! I especially liked the eagle shots. I live about 20 miles north of the Quad Cities in Iowa. We get a large population hear in the winter and I love photographing them. Thanks for sharing and keep shoting
Hey thanks great ideas and great advice. However after the winter we have had here in Iowa this year I hope I don't have the chance to try it until next year.
Can any one give me some tips on the best way to try and catch a snow flake for a MACRO shot? I tried laying various fabrics down but the snow lakes seem to self destruct when they land. They aren't melting just breaking up.
 Great shots of the birdies. I live in Iowa just North of the Quad cities. We get a lot of Eagles through the winter and strangely enough some of these critters in the Spring and Summer. I think I'll try catching some of these guys on the Mississippi river. Thanks for sharing
Wow! It's about time we get some professional help on here. Welcome aboard Dr. and yes I love my Mother but I don't ....L.o.v.e my Mother if you know what I mean. Any ways nice shot and by the way I kind of like to play around with MACRO stuff to. I just bought a set of extension tubes for my Canon 50MM MACRO lens. And don't worry about being a Nikon user we can get you help.
I just recently started testing the waters of shooting in the RAW format. All I can say is after processing it reminds me of the difference between regular TV and HD TV. I'm playing with MACRO shots and HDR. Shooting in RAW and having the flexibility it affords is great for me. One thing I've learned though in Photography. What I like, do, see, and try, is what is best for me. Whatever makes you happy is best for you and don't let anyone tell you different. As the saying goes if it feels good do it. Now that has gotten me into trouble a few times but I won't go there. Just keep shooting and you will figure it out.
Not a problem., My wife and I are Prime members on Amazon and these will be here Tuesday. I'll play with them next weekend and let you all know how they did and will post a couple photos. Thanks for all the information.
Not sure if I'm attaching the link right or not.

I purchased these a little while ago. I to didn't really want to put out $200 if these work just as well. After all if I understand the principal behind them. They are just spacers between the camera and the lens. If the auto focus doesn't work then I'll use manual I figure. I thought I would give it a try for $50 dollars.
I just want to say thanks to everyone. I do appreciate the tips and advice. I'm not sure now how I got started with UHH but because of folks like you I think my skills have advanced tremendously. Thanks again all!
You wouldn't have a ballpark price for a set. I'm looking on line and I'm finding all kind of brands that are running from $30-$200. If a $50-$100 set will do the same I hate to pay a lot mor.
