Organizer is the cataloging portion of Photoshop Elements. These photos were in the Organizer and all of a sudden these 50 or so have an icon showing that they are "offline files". I hooked up an external drive that should have those photos on it, but can't retrieve them. I guess I don't know how to import them from the Ext HD
that has them backed up. thx
I have about 50 photos in Organizer that have offline files and can't be opened.

I know that if you delete a photo anywhere but Organizer, there will be a missing
link. Can edited versions be deleted in Windows as long as the original photo stays there without causing the "missing link"?

I have been doing backups to ext hard drives (2) and have done some research on verifying whether the data (pics) can actually be restored. There are things like Checksum and other software to do this. Expensive!! Is there an easy way to verify the backup? I just want to be able to restore my photos.

I want to copy ALL my photos to a 2TB ext hard drive. Some are jpg and some (most) are tif. I can't seem to find ALL my photos. What is the easiest way to find them all to copy? I use Windows 10.

I am reposting this in more clear form (hopefully). When I insert my SD card (the same one) into my SD slot in my computer several times, the order is different.
They are downloaded by date (newest first). After removing the card and after a few minutes reinserting it, the first pic is not always the same. No settings were changed. Why is this? I used PSE Photo Downloader.

Thanks for the help, however I use Photoshop Elements Photo Downloader and none of the settings match your description. My original post had to do with why when I insert the same SD card in my computer at different times, do the order of photos are different when no settings are changed. I know how to work with Photo Downloader, but why does the above happen?

Why, when I insert the same SD card in my computer slot, do the pics come up in a different order? I'm trying to make a sheet detailing each pic in order so my family can easily find any pic. It's getting very old to put that much work into it, and the next time the pics are in a different order. Please help!!
