Oh, I see. Well, I suppose I'll have to hope my neighbors just think I'm the crazy lady across the street who sits in odd places with a camera on her lap!!!!

Heheheh Oh, I'm sure they've seen stranger things considering what's on TV these days.

Eye-catching at every level. Fantastic lighting and color. Great work on this one.

Thanks, y'all! :) Amazing what a little $5 slave flash can do with an image, ain't it? :D

Gary, love the light coming from the back, hope that is right? Beautiful rose and well done.

Thanks so much! That is correct. I used a slave flash behind and below the rose. It was triggered by my camera in wired mode.

Excellent Shot.

I have been trying for a while now to have a photo with black background. No luck so far. I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up a black felt board and used it. It turned out to be a blue background. Do you do it with p/p or a camera setting?

Thanks, everyone. I use black velvet. :) I've tried all the other stuff out there (foam core, poster board, felt, muslin, one of my wife's dresses, etc), but black velvet is the ONLY thing that gives me the nice rich black that I desire.

Splendid lighting techniques. Just out of curiosity here...Have you ever used the LumiQuest snoot?

Great shots!

Thanks very much. Not specifically a Lumiquest, but I have used a snoot. Here's one example: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-156447-1.html
