Hope your day doesn't go as badly as you think it might. Sorry about Harold, hope he improves and not go the other way. Something else to cope with but you'll manage you're good at that. Try and find something to smile about somewhere along the line. xx

I love what you said. Wish I could say things that well. Y heart is in a good place but my words do not follow

Morning. Today is going to be a bad day for me. I can feel it already. I am having a stern talk with myself and hopefully I will listen. Maybe just stressed over the added responsibilities I have as Harold is not well at all. The last month has been a downhill slide for him. Feeling helpless. No sense sitting here moping I might as well get some chores accomplished.
Hoping you all are having a much better day than I am.

I heard a lady speak today saying that by not accepting things as they are we give ourselves more pain than if we can accept things are as they are. It was something I needed to hear as I don’t want things as they are. If it helps you I’m glad I shared it ... if it doesn’t just forget I said it.

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 6:52 am EDT and 4'C (39'F) going up to 7'C (45'F). The cloud is rolling in. We just had a beautiful pink sunrise before the sun disappears for the day and rain will start later.
This weekend was glorious. The temperature was warm with full sunshine.
Our Easter get-together went very well. There was none of the usual family drama. My brother's little dog decided I was his best friend and inundated me with kisses. I think he remembers that I gave him lots of scritches at Christmas. Mum took them all for a walk by the river while DD and I prepared the meal. Everyone left very full. After a full month of having lamb in the store, the grocery store didn't have any when I went shopping for Easter, so we had turkey instead. It was only a 14 pounder for 9 people so there was enough meat with not much leftover. We had squash, jacket baked potato, asparagus and mixed salad on the sides. We did run out of starch for the gravy so had to get creative and used rice starch. The gravy ended up being a gel when it cooled but was nice when hot.
Things are weird outside. The trees have not opened their leaves but I ran into a spiderweb walking in the back yard. We have all the summer birds now. The spring birds migrated through very quickly. We only saw the "stripy head" finches for one day. They went through two weeks worth of seed in one week so I had to buy some bird seed from Walmart until I can get back to the farm. Once the bugs are out, we cut them down to one feeding per day except for the finch feeders. The little birds take a week to empty them.
The federal government just announced this weekend that pregnancy prevention medication and diabetic medication is now free, depending on cooperation from the provincial governments. They also announced a lunch program for all school aged children. Unfortunately it will be started in the cities first and probably won't make it to this area for years.
Since I didn't have to work yesterday and all the chores for Easter were completed, I had a knitting day. I finished one sock and cast on its mate, and started a colourwork sock for the LYS April KAL. (Sorry I don't have a picture of the colourwork sock yet.)

It's good that the pharmacy caught that. One of my co-workers used to go to multiple pharmacies to get her prescriptions filled. They did not catch an interaction because they did not know all the medications that she was taking. When she took all her medication to ONE pharmacist to check, he changed a couple of the medications to eliminate the interaction and she felt much better.

Good to stick to one pharmacy for that reason. Probably saved my life. Today we went to low price day movie and saw Kung fo panda. Cute. I don’t think I’d let a child see it. Too much violence and being put in cages. Kids need pleasant thoughts. On way home my wipers would not work I think a glitch in the wiring so need to call insurance tomorrow. I don’t want it corrected by that awful place who did the work. There is cold air coming out of heater with warm air and a thick rubber hose covering wiring in the door that isn’t attached to the car frame. We are expecting a snow storm so my dinner plans for Thursday are up in the air and if wiper isn’t working I can’t drive In storm or rain. I made appointment for therapy April 19 on my legs for the lymphedema. Hope I have a car then.
I saw baby chipmunk on my wicker lounge chair. Son tried to scare it away but it came back. Not afraid of 6 foot man.

Hope you all had a fine holiday. However you spent it or what ever you call it. For me it’s Easter a religious holiday we went to the movie to see Ghostbusters and out to a nice restaurant for dinner. Not much religious ness in that but I do follow the reason for the season.
The doctor prescribed a med that would not go with my heart meds or elequis. Pharmacy spotted it and told me. I would have had big problem if the meds made my heart act up. NO substitute for that meds so I have an antibiotic and ointment. With my other meds it’s 14 items each day spaced apart and with or without food depending on the meds. I’ll go daft.

Lucky I got my exercise and didn't hurt something trying to get it in and out of the car.

I couldn’t have done it. We had a low excercise bike I let son use. We had to adjust for each of us and it got broken didn’t replace it but wish I had it now. Might get another

I have pulled knitted hats on over my sunglasses that were on top of my head. I think I put my sunglasses on my head so often that it felt "normal" even with the hat over it.
We have two filing cabinets in this house because mum insists on having a paper trail. Most of the papers in the filing cabinet are useless for anything after the 30 day warranty is over. But she only goes through those cabinets once a year.
Could you ask your insurance to recommend some place that can look at that wire bundle.

Good idea. I will ask
Had long drive to get tax papers to tax man yesterday and today went to pay my health insurance and car payment. Then met friends for dinner. Waited for son to go in convenience store for a coffee for me and heard a tap on my car window. Man asked me if I was ok because I must have fallen asleep and looked dead. I assured him I was ok and he asked if I was ok to drive. I said yes I had just had a long day. When son came out of store the man spoke with him and son told him he had only been In There 3 minutes the guy said he had fallen asleep like that himself and he was 65. I would have flirted if I knew he was that old. He had brown hair and no wrinkles and looked In his 30s.
I have a disaster a day honestly. I have a bright red rash where leg joins body 8 inches down from hip. It has a grey center with white center in that. Will call for doctor appointment tomorrow but he only works half a day so son got me an appointment with oncall which I can cancel if my doctor sees me. I’ve had something like that where skin touched skin under my breast. Never a peaceful day. Son wanted me to wait til tomorrow to pay insurance and car payment but I said no I don’t want to wait til last minute in case critters bit the wiring. Didn’t expect the rash. But glad I didn’t wait for the payments. Son likes to wait I like to get it over with.

I also did that once. Although I did not have a hat on. He asked me what I was looking for. I told him my glasses. He said they were on my head. To prevent myself some embarrassment I told him I was looking for my other pair.

Quick thinking. My doctor said she had those experiences and thought she was getting old except she remembered the same happened when she was young.

I seem to have a good system of putting thing back where they belong. If I move it to a new home I leave a note in the old home. Only needed the note once and I was glad it was there. However, this a.m. I was searching the drawer where I keep my med supplies for a daily med. Searched all 7 drawers of the dresser and neatened then while I searched. Long story short. It was on my desk right in front my face. It is a very small bottle. I will now put the small bottle inside an average size pill bottle.
At least I got everything neatened in the entire dresser.

I felt so foolish one day when I was looking for my glasses and they were on my head under my knitted hat. How could I pull a hat over glasses and not feel them there. I do need a file cabinet which I’m getting soon as possible. I don’t do business on computer so I have paper trails and need to keep them neat. What good are they if I can’t find them. I found a black rubber tube in the door area of my car with wires inside. It must have come loose because not attached right. I’m not going back to that dealer ever even if I have to pay to get the tube reattached. Elsewhere.

Yesterday, DD came back early from her walk to get me and my car. She had spotted a man putting out a folding treadmill. She has wanted one for a while so she can walk every day and not just in good weather. (I walk in the rain. It's not too bad. I didnt' have any company this morning. I don't walk when it is icy out.) We tried to shove that thing into the back of my car. I found out that I can't carry anything higher than 2 feet tall, even with my back seats folded down. DD sat on the back seats holding what she could of the treadmill that was hanging out of the back of my hatchback door. Good thing we didn't have to go far. The bungee cords that I used to pull down the hatchback door let loose because there aren't any holes on that door to stick the hooks into.
This thing is bigger than the one that she was looking at originally. It is also very heavy. It is sitting in the garage right now. DD was hoping to get my brother and BIL to help get it into the house, but my BIL has had heart surgery and my brother has a bad arm so I said not likely to happen. We do have a fridge moving cart somewhere. I think mum has an air compressor on it. I just have to find it, take the air compressor off and use that cart to pull this thing up the outside stairs and down the stairs into the basement.

Sew something on that 2nd red bag so you can tell them apart.
I'm glad that you are ice free. It took a lot longer to recovery from the ice storm up here. Arborists made a lot of money up here and came from all over to help chop trees. Our paper birch still has a scar in the middle where it lost a big chunk to the ice.

That is such a great idea. I will do that. Had a great surprise this morning. I was going to take tax papers to the fellow who does them and son told me when he looked in the yard the branches were gone and the pile by my nice neighbor was big. We think he came over and cut the branches for us and took them to his yard which is a good distance. I phoned to thank him but had to leave a message saying thank you and I will call him when he is home. I will send him a thank you card with a gift card in it. Not sure how much to send. He uses them when he goes on his summer fishing trip. Felt like a mini miracle.

Glad you are safe and warm now. No one expects these storms in March.
You will now need to plan your life around diuretic medication. Getting up a 2 a.m. to take a pill is now unheard of.

So weird to see piles of tree limbs by the road. And the ice has melted. Tomorrow I am driving 2 hours to the man who does my taxes. Lost my info then found it. But today it wasn’t in the red bag. So frustrating I couldn’t understand why I’d take it out if the red bag. Looked and looked. Saw a bit of red under a folded blanket and it was the same red bag. I have 2 of them. So glad I found the papers for the taxes. Hope you are feeling better.

I guess we passed our snow storm your way. How much did you get?

Worse than snow. Ice formed on all the tree parts looks lovely but the tree parts broke and fell in the roads and on property. Power was out from 11late last night to 11 noon ish today we had no heat no light s nothing. Then 6 inches of snow on that. Today I saw big tree limbs across neighbor’s drive way we have 2 medium tree parts over the fence into our yard. I used a small flashlight to move around the house. Didn’t sleep much worried we have a 3 story evergreen tree which was bending power lines about a foot low and if it fell it would take out our house or the neighbors. My friend says she got a company to attach cables to keep, their tree upright I’m looking into that but probably very expensive.was so cold this morning even with blankets that helped last night all I could do was sit and worry In The dark and pray. Several trips to bathroom due to diuretic pills. If it’s warm tomorrow the ice might melt off the trees. Can see brown under the ice which look s like glass not just on top of the branches but totally encapsulating them.
