Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 6:52 am EDT and 4'C (39'F) going up to 7'C (45'F). The cloud is rolling in. We just had a beautiful pink sunrise before the sun disappears for the day and rain will start later.
This weekend was glorious. The temperature was warm with full sunshine.
Our Easter get-together went very well. There was none of the usual family drama. My brother's little dog decided I was his best friend and inundated me with kisses. I think he remembers that I gave him lots of scritches at Christmas. Mum took them all for a walk by the river while DD and I prepared the meal. Everyone left very full. After a full month of having lamb in the store, the grocery store didn't have any when I went shopping for Easter, so we had turkey instead. It was only a 14 pounder for 9 people so there was enough meat with not much leftover. We had squash, jacket baked potato, asparagus and mixed salad on the sides. We did run out of starch for the gravy so had to get creative and used rice starch. The gravy ended up being a gel when it cooled but was nice when hot.
Things are weird outside. The trees have not opened their leaves but I ran into a spiderweb walking in the back yard. We have all the summer birds now. The spring birds migrated through very quickly. We only saw the "stripy head" finches for one day. They went through two weeks worth of seed in one week so I had to buy some bird seed from Walmart until I can get back to the farm. Once the bugs are out, we cut them down to one feeding per day except for the finch feeders. The little birds take a week to empty them.
The federal government just announced this weekend that pregnancy prevention medication and diabetic medication is now free, depending on cooperation from the provincial governments. They also announced a lunch program for all school aged children. Unfortunately it will be started in the cities first and probably won't make it to this area for years.
Since I didn't have to work yesterday and all the chores for Easter were completed, I had a knitting day. I finished one sock and cast on its mate, and started a colourwork sock for the LYS April KAL. (Sorry I don't have a picture of the colourwork sock yet.)

I have pulled knitted hats on over my sunglasses that were on top of my head. I think I put my sunglasses on my head so often that it felt "normal" even with the hat over it.
We have two filing cabinets in this house because mum insists on having a paper trail. Most of the papers in the filing cabinet are useless for anything after the 30 day warranty is over. But she only goes through those cabinets once a year.
Could you ask your insurance to recommend some place that can look at that wire bundle.

I seem to have a good system of putting thing back where they belong. If I move it to a new home I leave a note in the old home. Only needed the note once and I was glad it was there. However, this a.m. I was searching the drawer where I keep my med supplies for a daily med. Searched all 7 drawers of the dresser and neatened then while I searched. Long story short. It was on my desk right in front my face. It is a very small bottle. I will now put the small bottle inside an average size pill bottle.
At least I got everything neatened in the entire dresser.

Yesterday, DD came back early from her walk to get me and my car. She had spotted a man putting out a folding treadmill. She has wanted one for a while so she can walk every day and not just in good weather. (I walk in the rain. It's not too bad. I didnt' have any company this morning. I don't walk when it is icy out.) We tried to shove that thing into the back of my car. I found out that I can't carry anything higher than 2 feet tall, even with my back seats folded down. DD sat on the back seats holding what she could of the treadmill that was hanging out of the back of my hatchback door. Good thing we didn't have to go far. The bungee cords that I used to pull down the hatchback door let loose because there aren't any holes on that door to stick the hooks into.
This thing is bigger than the one that she was looking at originally. It is also very heavy. It is sitting in the garage right now. DD was hoping to get my brother and BIL to help get it into the house, but my BIL has had heart surgery and my brother has a bad arm so I said not likely to happen. We do have a fridge moving cart somewhere. I think mum has an air compressor on it. I just have to find it, take the air compressor off and use that cart to pull this thing up the outside stairs and down the stairs into the basement.
