Thank you so much AuntieM, I am so excited and proud about this piece...I just had a prof. art curator review this photo...the following are her comments:
Redundant Behavior is a much stronger image- it captures the sensual form of a familiar animal in way that’s both bold and subtly shadowed. I also appreciate the spatial orientation is such that the break in the cleaved plumage comes in from the left side of the piece; as it points to the right, the repeated arching patterns of the orange feathers bring the eye to the periphery of the works opposite edges. This keeps the piece fluid, instead of forming a centralized and static focal point. You mention a ‘special effect’ in the caption of the photograph. But I don’t find the technical manipulation of the subject evident in the viewing. For me, this is a positive aspect. Technique moves beyond the medium, and creates an evocative, sensory image.

A little behind the curve in reviewing my UHH, but this is an absolutely stunning photo.

Thank you... Thank you...you've managed to so eloquently describe both my intent and the essence of this piece !

This is a wonderful image, Eye Art! On first glance, I can see why several posters thought the bottom of the photograph was too severely cropped, but after looking more carefully and spending more time with the image, I have to disagree. If the subject of the image were the water lilies alone, the critique might be justified---but that wonderful upper portion, with its swirl of color in dark space, seems to me to be as significant a part of the composition as the lilies themselves. And the close cropping at the bottom creates a sense of motion in the lilies, as though the they were on parade, forming a colorful queue that is snaking itself from the bottom of the image into that inviting, if darker, universe above it. I like this photograph just as it is! Kudos to you, Eye Art! Your moniker is well deserved. . . .

Amazing. I thought for sure they were done in PP. Gorgeous colors. We get the plain old white ones up here. I can certainly see why you like them so much. I like the shot just the way it is. The cropping adds a creative touch of your own.

Nicely done. I really like the effect created by the background colors. I'm assuming they are reflections.

I agree with christofras. I think it's cropped a little too tight at the bottom, but the color saturation is nice!

Nice shot, eye art.Good composition too. Maybe the bottom edge should have more showing do you agree? Was the photo taken hand held or on a tripod?

Thanks for your nice words and comments, this was a handheld shot, in reference to the cropping, I had many options but this is the one that made me happiest, I suppose cropping is like choosing a paint color when standing before a bare canvas.
Thanks again.
