Yes it is frustrating. Just compose till you get what you want and shoot. If you want the same field of view as the old 35mm just go wider angle of view by 1.5 (in simple terms)

Don't worry, be happy.

I use LR for processing. The program shows in the metadata what the focal length of the lens is, both the original and when used in crop mode. See the clip from the LR panel below. Maybe your EXIF data in the program you use does not show the crop focal length, but if you used the crop mode the resultant image would equate to the 1.5 factor.

He may not have it in EXIf, but default, and thinks he has it in EXIF.....

Crop factor is just for your info. The camera does not use it. That is the equivalent of what you would get with a full frame

How are the photos stored now? Sending so many to a cloud would take forever. I would just transfer locally to your hard drive.

wow, I've been to fort bragg numerous times and have not seen this. I was just there the first week of May this year. Nice shots.....Where is it? If I may ask.

Being From Philo I'm sure you have eaten at Pattersons Pub in Mendocino. I love that place. And I love the Boonville brewery too.

Better yet, get an external usb card reader. B&H has one for about $20. You can get them for a few bucks, but I would not.

Notice the poster is from Florida. The State added insult to injury after the insurance industry lost a bunch of money following a hurricane some years ago. They stopped offering hurricane coverage.

You can still get homeowners insurance for other hazards; e.g. fire. At least you could two years ago when I kept it on my mother-in-law's house after she passed.

Just like us in Ca can't get earthquake coverage unless we pay more for it with a rider. But the basic stuff is available. I used to live in Cocoa Beach btw.

Sadly some of us live in states where the major insurance companies do not provide homeowner's or renter's insurance. I have seen that USAA (if you are a veteran) sells separate personal property insurance.

Is there State Farm, AAA, Farmers, Allstate. These and more all carry HO insurance. I have never heard of any major insurance company that does not carry it.

My previous comment on this subject:

I have never understood why folks will spend thousands of dollars on cameras and equipment and then try to save a buck by re-using cards over and over, considering that they cost almost nothing to replace, in the face of equipment cost. The only time I've ever re-used a card was the time my wife accidentally wiped one clean by accident. I was not happy.

Memory cards like computer drives are reusable/rewritable for a long period of time.....To throw them away as you do is a waste of money. Although it keeps someone in a job I guess. A retired school teacher must be filthy rich to do as you do. I was in the wrong profession......I would be willing to bet you do not buy a new computer each time you delete a file.

We all know glitches can happen.....this happened to him...With the cameras of today, you can see the picture you just took.....If you see it, it is on the card......sometimes things happen to us like it did him.....and there is ALWAYS a chance we can loose our data. That is the world of technology.

Don't be so mean....smile a little and enjoy your retirement.

If you really throw yours away (and are not just being sarcastic) throw them my way.......I'm not rich....

If you use Nikon, the AE-L/AF-L button on the back of the camera also serves to protect images. If you accidentally press it when you look at the LCD screen right after the shot it will put a protection flag on image. To unprotect switch to play mode and press on that button again.

I do use Nikon, but I use the AE-L/AE-F button for BBF. Ill check it out and see if that's the problem, just out of curiosity, since I now format.

I forgot to mention, I use a LowePro shoulder sling with body strap. It does the job for me. You do have to stop and take it off to get the camera out, or swing it to the front.
