Always wanted to go to Switzerland but don't see it in my headlights. My wife will not leave the country and is deathly afraid of flying. Maybe another trip out west to Colo. Enjoyed the images.

Now those are some really nice images. Looks like a good place to visit.

I really enjoy little birds. You usually have to be fast as they don't stay put but that is how they stay alive.

Don't know anything about him. But a good way is to start with free stuff and great an idea of where your interests lay. This is a link to Phlearn on YouTube. This guy walks you through a lot. He has courses upon courses that you can purchase later.

Cameras don’t take pictures. People do. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Pretty much sums it up. As for the designed purpose that may be a little different. One is for remembering or visualizing. The other is for when seconds count and the police are only minutes away.

One thing that's really important that most people overlook is to wash those clothes in brightener free ultra-violet killer detergent. Get it from any outdoor store. Most animals are far more sensitive to ultra-violet than humans and you will stick out like a sore thumb in the woods if you don't do something to combat it.

Yea, ultra violet and scent neutralizer are two biggies. Another thing is to have soft clothing. While jean material may hold up better it will also make a lot of noise when you are against brush.
One more item if you really want to not spook critters is to use a rubber band or something on the bottom of your pant legs. It may sound silly but the oil from your body below the waist leaves a lot of scent on the ground. So if you back track or set up overlooking where you traveled you have greatly reduced your chances. Ask someone who has worked with K9.

Look close, I believe that's a composite.

You might be right. Taking a close look the foxes jaw has a different focus and a white line. Just didn't look close. Wouldn't have thought it would have won if was not a single image.

I like the images but do agree the real skill was the post processing. The eagle and the fox is my favorite but was a matter of time and place, you know the "old be there" scenario. Nothing against the images and I also agree with emmons267, you could as well.

You will want a camera with lots of reach, so I would put the 150-600 on the 7DII for long distance subjects, the 24-70 on the 5D for landscape and keep the 70-200 on reserve for the 5D for closer wildlife.

Yep, make the most sense.

That is an awesome experience, for both her and you. Thanks for doing that.

My wife andI go to Columbus for the day once in awhile to visit Franklin BG. They have a good butterfly section as well as flowers. Inside and out. I take a 24-105 (sometime a 24-70) and a 100 macro. I use the macro more than anything else. The 24-? is great for wider views of displays and grounds but when you want but often for flowers I like the flower a limited amount of surroundings.
Don't forget a monopod. Unless you are really steady it will be invaluable.

100-400 II is really sharp. You can crop it pretty far and still get a usable image.

I am with the depends on the situation group. I have gotten into using a softbox to take flower shots. I like the results. I also do a lot of backyard birds where you only have seconds to get the shot. No time to fiddle with settings.
