What if this man was your son? What if there was a broken marriage, a gambling addiction? Would you be so quick to pull the trigger?
We simply do not know the circumstances. Shot first, ask questions later?

judge, jury and executioner? It doesn't matter when it happened. The point was that it was being held up as a cheap solution to a social problem. The suggestion was made that a single bullet is far cheaper than attempting to talk the man out of a crisis situation.

Are you condoning what has happened here?
There is a great deal of evidence to suggest that Christ did once exist as a man on this earth. As to whether he actually was the son of God, I have no idea. I am an Agnostic.
I just think that this situation is appalling and to hold it up as an example of conflict resolution with a satisfactory outcome is just wrong.

1. We could write new captions that might tell a very different story.
2. We do not know what drove this man to such a desperate act. We do know that these types of situations are usually an outcome of a desperate cry for help.
3. The “Head Negotiator” does not have the appropriate training to negotiate a safe and non-violent resolution.
4. The scenario does not end with the boy safe and well. The boy has just witnessed a brutal murder where a man has had his brains blown out. It may well have been the boy’s own father.
5. You can only view this as a just and desirable outcome if you sanitise and desensitise the situation.
6. This is not an issue of saving money. Those who believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ need to ask, would Jesus have shot the kidnapper?

I was with a group of Chinese friends, including a couple visiting Sydney from Shanghai. We stopped at a local winery which had a restaurant, for coffee etc.
While the rest of the group talked in Shanghainese I wondered off and took a few photos.

Thank you AuntyM. Well--- They emptied the contents of the truck out so there was a big pile of smoldering rubbish on the ashfelt. Obviously the fire department got it under control pretty quickly. Then a truck with some heavy machinery on the back arrived and they started to scoop the rubbish up and load it back into the garbage truck.
I left for work and when I returned that evening all that was left was a dirty sludgy stain on the surface of the road. A few days later, after some rain, it disappeared.... But you will just have to take my word for it, because ..... my battery .......
