I used a Canon T2i set at f/10, 1/2500 sec, ISO - 1250

Yes, but I assume you were using a burst mode of some sort, right? You weren't pressing the shutter release that quickly were you?

When I was down on the Columbia River the other day, I took some pictures of the river and also twin sisters. At the location of the trailhead, this was hanging on the fence. I'm not familiar with the type.

Can anyone identify it please. It's about the size of a half dollar.
Download and then expand to get a better view.
Thanks in advance, Richard

I am pretty certain that this is a 7 legged spider. ;)

First attempt. Shooting blind when the mirror is up. Seems to work well when you get right.

If this is the kind of result you get I will start shooting blind folded! Absolutely tack sharp focus. Can count every feather. Very nice shot.

Bet you are glad you aren't there right now, huh?

The bird is called a red crested cardinal. You were right on. Saw several on my trip over there a few years back.

A bit more of a trip for me though. Thank you for bringing back memories of a fun couple of weeks.

I like that more. I guess it is because I see the world around me in color. B&W is nice but color gives it so much more dimension I feel. Thanks for showing it as well.
