I would like to get your opinion. Would this picture look better cropped? If you think it would where would you crop it? Thanks!

You might try cloning unwanted items in the photo which will not reduce the size of the photo. Just a thought ... Here's an example

Ah yes, excellent location from the look of your shot.

That bridge... oh my gosh. What a feat of engineering.

I heard, perhaps you can confirm, this was mainly done because of homeland security... have you heard the same?

I think the construction of the new bridge was to eliminate the massive traffic backups going over the dam. Having said that, I believe the thought of a breach in the Hoover Dam and perhaps the end of the American Southwest as we know it today was in their thinking as well.

Nice shot...who's Pat Tillman Ron.
Ron.

Specialist Patrick Daniel "Pat" Tillman[1] (November 6, 1976 – April 22, 2004) was an American football player who left his professional career and enlisted in the United States Army in June 2002 in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. He joined the Army Rangers and served several tours in combat before he died in the mountains of Afghanistan. The Army at first reported that Tillman had been killed by enemy fire, and then Lieutenant General Stanley A. McChrystal approved the award of a Silver Star. The actual cause of Tillman's death was ruled by The Pentagon as friendly fire.

Living in Phoenix I've been there a couple of times... it's truly a marval of engineering.

Nice shot. I'm trying to figure where you were to shoot it.
Here's one of mine from the parking lot on the east side of the river before crossing over the damn heading toward your town.

I was on the nevada side on top the walkway that spans the entire top of the dam. At that location you would want to shoot it in early AM with the sun at your back

I think this is a great photo, but I have 2 questions.

1. ISO of 12800 because you wanted the grainy look?
If so that is what made this picture.

2. You said a 17-40 L lens, the camera data inicates a 50 mm is that because of PP?

My mistake on posting my 17-40 L lens which I carry ... The image was taken with my 15-85mm. As to the high ISO The image was taken in a very dimly lit area. I was doing a hand held 3 exposure shot and needed all the speed possible to eliminate camera shake. Tripod would have helped but wasn't available at that time Thanks Ron
