My pleasure, so glad that you enjoyed it.

I was in Brisbane in September 2013 and saw several wild parrots while there, but a very special moment was the morning I saw a whole flock of Sulphur Cresteds on my way in to work. To be able to observe these wild birds so up close and personal is very special. Would love to be able to do this myself.

Hello Bob, welcome to the hog. You have certainly started out with some spectacular images that cover several different aspects of photography. Keep 'em comin'.

Looking at some of Angela K's leaves inspired me to share a few of my own. And yes, I suffer from OCD (obsessive camera disorder) as she diagnosed!

Very nice leaf shots. You do realize that your backlit vine is poison ivy, right?

Egrets still elude me. I find them tough to capture, but this one was better than most I've gotten. Wish he had stayed a little longer and had tolerated my attempt to get closer. It is what it is.

Well done.

Dim lighting and long focal lengths=high ISOs. Please try downloads. 8 birds posted. Sorry about that. 3 birds posted. Unable to post all for some reason.

These 3 are great. Try the others again.

Hiking on a foggy morning has it's own challenges in terms of changing light. I like the softness at times, and this particular area was kind of a mixed bag. One minute there was fairly good light, then it was gone. It certainly was interesting and challenging.

Super set.

So I decided to really push the boat out and invest in a custom built beauty.
OK so I had to sell the wife's bicycle to afford it but how cool will ol' Billy look cruising in this.

3 exposures into Photomatix>Camera Raw>Photoshop>Nik Filters>Alien Skin Exposure 6

Critique and comment welcomed

HDR makes all the difference with this one Billy. Really makes that 4th wheel stand out so you can find it in case you need it.

Just think about it if it was spring some of the thing we'd be out taking pictures of.

Nice pics. I count 28 young in that first photo. How did she hatch all those?

Apparently they call out how far open they want it by f-stops.

Really liked the entire set, but the squirrel with reflection is by far my favorite.

I visited my daughter in Davis, CA yesterday. It was cloudy and not very bright, but I did find these critters to have some fun viewing. I will return at a later date to get some more shots under better lighting though.

That 3rd image is really great. Jury is still out on the one eyed owls.
