Try setting everything (camera, Camera Raw and CS5 to the sRGB color space, and see if your problem doesn't go away.

If you're not quite sure how to do that, keep looking until you find out how. It's not all that difficult.

Other color spaces like Adobe RGB and Prophoto RGB promise a wider gamut in the printing situation, but convert your 16 bit image to one of those only when necessary (and not for the web or screen display).

Thank you! Will do! Nice!

I created some really vivid pictures and edited in PSCS5. When I loaded them to my meetup site they were DARK AND DULL, but when I clicked on them to download them again to my computer, the color seemed right. What am I doing wrong when I upload? Other pics by other (more seasoned) photographers looked great. All shot at the same time and under the same light. Mine looked like theirs on my computer before uploading. I'll see if the dull pic duplicates here.

Did you convert your pic to sRGB before you loaded them to your meet up site? Remember, the default color space of web browsers is sRGB. The default color space that Safari and Firefox use is sRGB. I don't know about internet explorer or google chrome. Therefore, if you load an aRGB photo on the web, the color will be different from what you see on your computer. Here, please read this regarding web color management tutorial.

I run into this issue when I try to upload a photo onto this site using the uploader tool. What I found works the best is in CS5, use "save for web" seems to help with the compression of the file when it is uploaded. Give it a try and see if it helps.

I normally upload to flickr then embed by image into my post, it doesn't compress the image that way, which results in compression of the colour space - dull image.

I am going to try this. Will post when I do. Thanks!!!

I don't think it's the monitor. See my profile pic in the red/yellow blouse. Looks just like that on my monitors (one is a PC computer, the other a MAC). The pic of the model actually has more color/pop than shows up. Thanks for replying, though, because I do need to remember to make sure the monitors are calibrated correctly. Take care! D

This is how it looked on the web, but not on the computer. Thanks!

This looked really dull online but "right" on the computer
