I really haven't a clue to what is causing my guiding to drop off the midline , I've checked my balance , level , increased my {custom} sidereal rate from 0.5 to 2 . Last night it was actually doing most excellent at first but, then everything went to H---. I'm so frustrated ! I'm sure that of these days that I'll find the answer to my dilemma. There's a bright side to everything in astronomy , I've been working with sgp and can navigate through it , get centered on target with my camera, run a sequence , add events and it'll shut everything that is connected down and park my scope after a sequence finishes and I can enjoy my jealous boys for the remainder of the night . This is a big deal to them and it shows . This capture software is just awesome and a steal for the price Alanna paid for it. Here are some screen shots of my phd2 graph and any help to keep it from moving off will help me immensely. Help me to get this figured out HOGGERS
guiding on Dubhe
guiding when on m81 the night before when everything went into the toilette
We do have to overcome a lot of obstacles , that's half the fun of trying to catch something within the holes that get smaller in the Spring. I'm having to deal with extreme pollen and weather that just won't cooperate.
Lucky Sonny, that would be the icing on my cake . I'd love to have a 360 degree view but, that's wishful thinking. One day I'll have an observatory and that will be the end to all this tear down put back up stuff. I ran a sequence last night without guiding and 50% of all the subs were graded 80% or better" That's alright ! in my book" my focus was out on the green channel so , I'll be shooting those again tonight with another sequence.
Sonny, I'm getting in my grove of using Sgp. It's trying to get that darn tube rotated in the rings just right and getting it marked . I thought I had it the other night but, that's why I test every change I make, I'm confident that I'll get it resolved. It all started when adding the new camera , efw 5 mini and TV Paracorr t2 lens ass. and it sticks out a good bit from the focuser . The wind has been killing me and testing is here and there, this year is being a real pita and I hope it settles down before the scorch hits. Once I get it all marked , balanced and tested it'll be "Miller time" !
Jim , can you send me some of those skies you're getting out there. It seems like I've been on a roller coaster with Spring and Winter for a long time.
I move my mount all around the property to get in the holes through the trees. I'm not blessed with a clear view of too much, the only exception is 45 degrees to zenith in the NE and SW . I've got to do what I can to get time to capture without running in a tree. It's a tear down every couple of nights but, I'm learning to accept the way things are , though it's a pita Sonny .
Looks good from my house , kudos !
I had everything going for testing and it would've been a awesome night if the clouds wouldn't of been there. I've made successful progress , I was on my own last night and it was a success. I've got a long way to go but, I'm moving in the right direction now with Sgp. The balancing of the load is really hard for me to accomplish with one hand and Alanna and I just argue about which way to turn this and push that , it's quite a comedy.
sonny , you're imaging is awesome . Kudos !
I'll give it a go, this is frustrating not getting a sequence to run and I thought maximdl was difficult 7 years ago. I waiting to here back from Ed .
I spent all this time trying to get it setup and running a sequence and I'm just frustrated to no end, now 'm getting the path to phd 2 isn't set and apparently it won't go to the path I set for it. Please Help ?
Lookin good , love the detail your pulling.
It looks good from my house color adjustment is hard , you'll get it and so will I.
