you can trip the shutter with the lens removed, but that would only expose one frame of the roll of film.

Yes it is the closed shutter that blocks the light to the film, not the mirror. The N-90 is a Nikon
(1992-2001) film 35mm camera. It is no longer in production. My film photo class used some of these and the badged Nikon F90s last year for our university students' use.

Adorama Learning Center/YouTube and home site:

https://www.adorama.com/alc/category/how-to/photo/

I am a veteran photographer and photo professor at the university level. Many of my photo students have never picked up a camera before. I use this incredible resource with them. Adorama camera has this learning center with literally hundreds of YouTube tutorials on all aspects of photography from beginner level to more advanced. It is all free to use and view, over and over. And if your computer programs allow it, you can download them also free.

This is a great place to start. I had both Canon T4i and T5i in the past, and they are great tools to make great shots, so no worries about your camera and lenses. My students shoot with Canon T5i's which are similar to your camera. And their kits include that 18-55mm lens, and a 55mm-200 lens. With the range you have you can shoot just about any subject. Have fun and go for it.

I think ALL Sony dig cams have the Panorama feature, G. My Sony Cybershot HX100V not only has Panorama but 3D too! .... Don't ask!

The a77, a77II and a58 also have Panorama, and a tab you select, as to whether you wish to begin on the right, or the left ... it's neat!

I haven't used it, yet, though ... still thinking about a shot which might truly benefit from it, G .....

Yes my A7R2 also had the panorama feature. I got some great panorama shots with the A7R2 in the Scottish Highlands last fall, but then Sony took the panorama feature off the A7R3 and the A9, go figure ?

Chris, if you go with a Sony A6000, A6300 or A6500 camera, they all have a great panorama feature built right in the camera. It works great, just set the camera on panorama (you chose which direction you want to go l-r, or r-l (horizontal shots) or up to down, or down to up (vertical shots). Then press the shutter and swing in the direction you have chosen and the camera quickly shoots multiple shots. Then it stitches them together in-the-camera, evens up all edges, straightens out everything, and you can view the result right away. Some other cameras can also do this. I just found the quality of the images from the Sony Panorama setting to be excellent. People do have to remain fairly still as you are overlapping frames.

amfoto, excellent informative post. Thanks. I love my Canon TS 17mm lens. It has done wonders for my architectural shoots, used on my Sony A7R3. Cheers !

I vote for the Canon 17mm Tilt-Shift lens, which I bought used to use on my Sony A7R3 (with MC-11 adapter). Yes you can use any focal length wide angle lens, and as long as you are straight on and at the right height you can keep vertical lens straight. Have done this also in post processing in Lightroom to get rid of wide angle barrel distortion. Some cameras will correct lens distortion automatically in-the-camera for jpegs. But that won't always be the best answer.

There really is no better solution than a tilt-shift lens. Try to find one used. They usually don't get much use and wear and you probably can find a good used one. This is from a pro shooter, but even an advanced amateur should consider going this route.

Yes I saw his rude and ignorant post directed at you. I like you will remain here as long as folks are civil. We can disagree, but their is no place for personal attacks and disrespect for someone's valid professional experience that is being offered.

Cheers to you Ted !

Ted, I am here now to lend another longtime professional's voice. I get the haters here also, and in YouTube reviewer's comment sections. Yes it is usually from some anonymous moniker.

As long as you are happy with your Nikon 24-120 results, stick with that. Cheers !

Absolutely no focus issues using Sigma lenses on Sony cameras. No reviewer has found that. If it is a problem on Nikon, then yes you should stick with the Nikon lens. Canon and Sony uses don't report these issues, but they have slightly different focus systems than Nikon (Canon -dual pixel; and Sony -the widest combo of phase detection and contrast detection points. Both reviewed as much better in video than Nikon.

Most good quality printers now will also do scanning. And some have software that will allow you to increase the scanning dpi to more than 300dpi. If you have that option then you should get great results. But if you just have the camera and macro lens ,then yes follow the instructions linked above. Just be sure your light source is diffuse and color balanced to the same white balance setting on your camera. Obviously do your copying with your camera on a tripod for steadiness.

i have the Sigma 24-105mm and love it. I use it on my high-megapixel SonyA7R3 with the Sigma MC-11 adapter and it works brilliantly. I has scored tops for resolution and image quality in many tests of similar lenses. I have not used it on Nikon, so I can't really speak to its use there.

I am a longtime pro shooter and could have bought any lens in this range, but chose the Sigma after thoroughly going over the reviews and speaking to other pros who have this lens and recommended it to me. I have nine different lens from 17mm to 600mm, both Sony and Sigma, but this lens gets used more than any other of my top quality lenses. It really is a perfect focal range for many subjects.

It even tested better than Sony's new 24-105mm lens.
