I'm contemplating on purchasing the Nikon 70-300mm lens and note that some come with the VR (vibration reduction) while others do not include this feature. My question of concern is "do I really need the VR for this large a lens". What am I giving up by not pursuing the VR feature. The 70-300mm lens will be used primarily at grandkids sporting events. I welcome your thoughts for or against. Thanks, tlbuljac
What am I gaining/losing by purchasing the 70-300 vs the 55-200 lens. I plan on taking photos of my grandkids sporting events, as well as fast action auto racing (Indy 500 and Brickyard 400). Will the 55-200 be able to pick up the fast action. Please be specific if you will and not just say the 70-300mm is better/faster without defining your reason. Thanks
KimParks, Thanks for your response, I appreciate you taking the time to address my inquiry....tlbuljac
Sensi, Thanks for your response. I am knew to photography and plan to use the camera for family get togethers, landscape photos and my yellow lab. I will most likely keep the D80 for awhile and hope to learn as much with it as possible. I do plan on purchasing a 70-300mm lens to aid in those special effects. Thanks again, and Happy New Year.....Tom
Audie, Thanks for the response. Makes sense to learn as much as possible before upgrading. I appreciate your post and comments. Have a Happy New Year...Tom
whats your opinion regarding the D3100 and will I gain that much more by upgrading to it.
Thanks for your response.
Thanks Dave I appreciate your response.
Thanks for your response, but how does it compare to the D3100.
I have a D80 camera that I recently inherited from a friend and have just begun to take photos. My interest is that of landscapes, ball games and my yellow lab Dusty. My question relates to how this camera compares to that of the Nikon D3100 and should I upgrade. Thanks for your responmses. tlbuljac
