Great shots, thank you. How tall was that ladder you're standing on?

When does creativety enter in to it? I believe it begins before the click of the shutter.

I couldn't agree more. We were talking about PP.

Scott, No one is criticizing anyone for making money. It's how they make it. If an actor gets paid a million dollars for making a movie, it's because he's expected to sell two million dollars in tickets. It's simply economics.
If however a CEO makes a million dollars by not giving his workers a fair wage then he hurts the economy because they need public assistance to live.
If you stop and think about it, Walmart and McDonalds are federally subsidized as many of their workers require food stamps or assistance to live.
As a fiscal conservative, you should be demanding that these companies pay their workers more.

Thanks for the very intelligent answer.

I have been told to have at least 3 means of back up to make sure you don't lose them.

When I was growing up and shooting film, I treasured most all my pictures. People pictures mainly. Then they were all water damaged and I had to throw all of them away. I'm still bummed out. I was looking forward to transferring the majority of them to digital. Lots of lost memories.

I have been thinking about this thread. This is my second reply. I have come to the conclusion that it is only the final "product" that matters. The process that leads to the finished item does not matter. The name you use to describe the maker does matter. A stone cutter is a craftsman. But to refer to Michelangelo as a stone cutter is in fact accurate but somehow it is not descriptive of his artistic renderings. A woodworker may be a noble craftsman but to refer to Stickley as a woodworker is technically accurate he was a great furniture maker whose work is very valuable. It is the picture that counts in photography. How the "picture maker" got to the final image is of no consequence. Whether or not PP was used, or if he jumped up and down while saying woopie is not visable in the picture. To be a little crude how a photographer produces his images may be of technical interest to some but I think it can be summed up by the phrase WGAS

Great post. I'm taking a photo class and the Master photographer that teaches the class said, "the photo just begins with the click of the shutter".

Does this have a focus ring? Will it close focus less than 2 miles?

A lot of fun. Gives me something to do during the winter months. Can't stand the cold.

I'm with ya. I go to photography class on Thurs. nights. I try to run down two batteries in my Canon XTi between classes. It sure is a challenge in the winter. I'm looking for a clear bowl to try to recreate your shots. Is this how you did it? One of my classmates in my last class put a multicolored towel under a bowl and made some spectacular images of water drops. Not long exposures like yours though.
