Since no one has mentioned this, I will.
If you paid for the lens with some form of bank card, contact them, too. You should have thirty days to send them a description of the problem. That will ensure that no matter what else happens you will get your money back.
It probably won't be necessary, but you should have all your bases covered.

Okay, I've decided that if it really makes a difference I would save a little longer to get a better camera. Is there enough difference between a T3i, T4i, or T5i to be worth the extra money?
Also I notice that the specs usually give a video length per size of SD card. Logical, but is there an upper limit to the size of the card? When I put a camera on a wing mount I obviously can't stop mid flight to change cards or start and stop the camera (I take a lot of video)

This was shot with a Fuji Finepix S1500, which unfortunately will not do HD video.
In the vein of starting and stopping, will all the Canons I've listed use a remote?
To the trolls who want to call me names for PWA (photographing while airborn). Please do us all a favor, go in the bathroom and do your little rant at the mirror. That will solve both your needs at once.
To the good folks who will give me incite into my question, or know other reasons to consider one model over another, thanks in advance.

No offense guys, but you clearly do not know a thing about flying. I took my private pilot practical test when I lived in Seattle, WA. The FAA examiner had me find my location with two VOR radios that I had to tune to find my bearing to each station, then plot the two lines of bearing on a sectional with a straight edge and pencil. Where the two lines intersected was my position. All this while flying at 110 mph in the VFR traffic areas below the SEATTLE TCA with about 30 airliners up above and the same number of private aircraft around me. Oh, yeah, and maintaining my altitude within 100 feet, my direction within 10 degrees, and my airspeed within 10 mph. Piece of cake. All I have to do in Kansas is watch out for turkey buzzards, red tail hawks, and the occasional bald eagle, so taking a picture after I scan the skies for traffic is just a matter of pointing the camera and pushing one button. Not exactly a big strain on my mental capacity.

Thanks for the support, but I turned 62 last Friday. I've been flying flex wings for 40 years and they don't intimidate me. I could probably fly one in my sleep. The hardest thing about taking a picture while flying is keeping the lens cap under control. I took the attached shots last Sunday.

I'm not a photographer, I'm a guy who takes pictures to illustrate technical articles, and report on activities. I also make instruction videos. I have a Fuji Finepix S 1500. It's okay except that in four years I have yet to figure out how to make the autofocus work for me instead of against me.
It's time to upgrade to a DSLR. The problem is which one. I have a budget of $7-800.
I need it to do all of the following;
Manual focus. I often have to get within 6 inches of the subject matter to illustrate a point in an article.
View finder. I cannot track a fast moving (200 mph or more) object with an LCD screen.
One handed operation. I often photograph from the air. I fly a trike and their's now way to fly it without at least one hand on the control bar.
Video of at least 720P, 1080P would be better.
Attach to a telescope. I have a 10 reflector and I'd like to try taking some astronomical photos.
I would rather buy new than used. I've always bought my computers one generation back, rather than the latest and greatest to save money. Is the same possible with a DSLR?

Thanks,
Rick

My name is Rick. I am a picture taker, I would not presume to be a photographer by any stretch of the imagination. I also have dabbled in video.
I am the newsletter editor for Chapter 88 of the Experimental Aviation Association in Wichita, KS, so my picture taking primarily involves images to back up the articles I write. Of course, being a grandpa, my other focus is my grandkids.
My current camera is a Fuji Finepix S1500. For the most part I am satisfied with it, but I have dreams of someday getting a DSLR so my primary reason for joining this group is gathering information about the various models in the bottom of the DSLR price range.
