Great series! I love how you zoomed out with each photo in the series. The final shot is especially intriguing with the mass of birds....a shot that reminded me of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds”. Very nicely done.

Great captures! I especially like the wing position and tree background in #2.

Steve,
Another great set of birds! Your ability to isolate the eagle(s) and provide such nice pleasant backgrounds is a real talent.

Steve, Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the series. Yes, backgrounds are really important and make a big difference in a photo. However, even when I take enough time to think about backgrounds, I usually get so excited about my subject that my backgrounds are usually just a matter of chance.

Wow! What a great series! I loved your photos and explanations. I've added nine-mile canyon to my personal bucket list.

Nice! Like them all but my favorite is #4. Sometimes like the immatures more than the adults to photograph. Guess its just the variety of their coloration. Also, here like the wing positions as the bird begins to make a left turn and the view of its ventral side. Nice background as well. Alls comes together for me in that shot.

Thanks for sharing!

Nalu, I'm glad you enjoyed them. Yes, the mottled brown and white coloring of the juveniles makes them quite interesting. Thanks for the insightful comments on #4.

Great captures. To far to go but thanks for sharing.

Camera Man, Thanks. Indeed too far from Michigan! Hopefully, a few of the eagles will stop for a visit in Michigan during their travels.

Bald Eagles gather in February at Farmington Bay, Utah to enjoy fresh sushi....mostly carp. Here's a few flight shots that I was able to get of mature bald eagles and an immature bald eagle (probably 2-3 years old).

Bald Eagle carrying fish home to its' nest. Notice the right talon and the fish tucked under the tail feathers.

Wonderful shot! Bald eagle in-flight, with fish, landing at nest...an outstanding composition!
