I guess "orange" in IN.

I was there as I go to that Event every Year. That Truck kicks it. We usually build a Bonfire up towards the Hotel, I think that it's a Best Western and since tip a few, I just stay there with My Wife. They have the Best Breakfast that I have ever had. I have 7.4 Acres right on LK. Superior and they are just about ready to spray the inside as the did the Cedar Logs on the Outside last October. I even have a 7ft. Wide Eagles nest about 150yrds. from this place. I will always be a Yooper! But I did take some good shots of that Truck and the Color Scheme just makes it Pop. Top Job KTJohnson, I really respect what You have created!

I read this and go, WOW, what does all this mean, and why?

What do You mean? I'am just pointing out that I still have come to the Conclusion that DSLR"S are still going to be on the Assembly Line for quite a few more Years. But, I did what I did and I stated as such. I was Hoping that People would see that Mirrorless is going to take awhile to catch up in the Lens DEPT. and that will take awhile. Price Canon, Nikon and Sony . The prices of their Lenses are outrageous. I would never pay Canon for what they want for an 800mm f/11, give ,e a break, and I will not pay Nikon for their 400mm with the 1.4 built in telaconverter, $11,000, no way. Now I did buy the DSLR Nikon Lens, 600mm f/4, the 500mm PF f/5.6, and I did buy the 300mm PF Lens. But, please keep in mind that I shoot for the University of Michigan"s Athletic DEPT. I let my equipment make coin to put towards new gear. Don't blast on me yet, I just state the facts period.

So this reply is an admission that You Pixel Peep. I can show You Photos from my D500 right next to my D6 and I guarantee that You would not be able to pick which Camera was Used for that Shoot. So, if You have the innards to back it up, then please do so.

Door Number Two, Monty! Take the trip. The Z9 is very tempting but do you need it? I would consider a Z7ii or Z6ii, probably the latter with new glass before I would go to the Z9. Personally, I still like DSLRs and would consider a used D750 or D850 but any of these choices require new glass.

Great Reply. You are so true that who can top Your Reply?

Your quips are getting tiresome. Nikon D500, Nikon 200-500 5.6 lens.

Beautiful shot, and I get the same results with my D500 with my f/4 600mm lens. I do own two D850's on top of the 1 that I bought when it first came out. I also have 1 D6 and 2 D5's which, by the way are 21Mp Cameras and they put Images out that will blow away the competition and I did buy the Z7II and the Z9. The Z9 and the Z7II are awesome cameras, but I do not believe that the Complete takeover of Full-Frame Mirrorless can beat the D850, and please do not look at the FPS on any Camera, in fact, I have all of my Camera set to shoot no more than10 at CH-High. If it takes more than that then I'm in trouble. Now that is not to be interpreted that I leave those settings alone. During Michigan Football and the other 3 Major teams that we have at Michigan then I will go to 12-15FPS. I have to make the $$$$ shot. I hope that You enjoy this Camera Gig as Much As I Have.

Then why are You the Poster Boy for Canon? Every time that someone takes a look at Your One-Line Click-Bait Replies, You are either trying to ruffle feathers or you just want to try and come up with nothing but stuff that does not fit the Narrative of what we are posting on a Thread in this Forum. Paul, I do know that You possess a little knowledge in Your "Upstairs", so stop with Your One Line snippets and bring an argument to me because this little Jewish Man that I'am would love to debate You, Just so I could show the UHH Forum that You think You are showing a IQ of 140, when actually You are probably average like the rest of us. But, remember, I'am a retired fed and I know how to go Toe-to-Toe with the best. Bring it on in this Forum so others can see what you are up to. I had many aDrug Dealers that were very sharp and they deflected jsu like You do. It is a diversion tactic that I have built Go-Arounds in the Interrogation Room, and I don't Lose.

If you are happy with your gear stay with it and take the trip. If you are dissatisfied with your gear and your photographic images then try the new camera and miss the trip. Getting to know the Z9 takes a bit of time, it's somewhat different in some ways from your D500. You might also consider simply upgrading to a D850, lots of bargains right now I think, which will net you a larger file size, better IQ, and more low-light capability. I have the D500, the D850 and the Z9 as well as the 500PF, which is now attached to my Z9. It has to be a choice based on your needs, wants, desires, not that of this group.

You probably will not believe this, but I purchased and recently done so, Another D500, A D6, and 2 D850's. Just let me explain myself before you light me up. I did this because I have a Lens Mounted to Every Camera Body that I have since I shoot Michigan Football, Basketball, Hockey, and Baseball which are all of the Men's Sports, and I even started doing Women's Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball, and I must say that I have developed Women Sports to show that they do matter to my Alma Mater. It is so exciting because the Women Love to play their Dreams Out. But, when I'am not assisting the Coaches, I just sneak off to get some shots so their Parents have something to remember their Kids by. I donate 20% of my Salary back to the University due to the Fact that it was my Home for 6.5 Years. I rally do not believe that the Major players are going to chuck the DSLR"s and the Lenses that they can produce at the snap of a finger. DSLR's, I think, are here to stay for quite a few Years. When they see that not everyone can Afford the Best of Canon, or Nikon with the Z-Series, they will get backed into a corner and will fire up the Grinders and Polishers of F-Mount Glass and Canon will do the same. I do know one thing for sure, I will never fire a Camera that just has 1 Memory Card Slot.

And so if they stop making gas powered cars now it would be a problem but not so if they stop making DSLR and their lenses.

That's What My One Reply was about. I believe that the Camera Manufacturers are Going To Resume Building DSLR's and DSLR Lenses. They can still do it. So I was using the EV's as an analogy. And it was me who said that we are not ready yet to go that Route and I don't feel that there's going to be a lot of people who are Advanced Enthusiasts that are going to just jump to Mirrorless Quite Yet. I have a Z9, but due to all of my F-Glass that I have, I bought the FTZ Adapter. If they were to go strictly Mirrorless their sales will Plummet due to the Fact that there are not that many Photogs that can dump $15,000 just to convert because the Costs of the Camera and the Costs of the Lenses will make a lot of people stick with what they have and when it can no longer be Serviced, then they will find another Hobby.

Now heres a bit of infotainment:
As you have rightly pointed out, the OPs method is hopelessly sloppy and lopsided.

But !!!! the experimental results differ only slightly. This is great evidence that most of the crap that hogsters fuss over and argue about is nearly meaningless ... which in turn supports the proposition that this is mainly an entertainment site.

Hey, that looks like me after a 36-48 shift, that is to say that I would be on call during those Hours and then put in the other days. We worked 24/7 when I was trying to protect and to serve. It got so rough that one morning I hopped in one of the Patrol Cars, as my Friend was a Local Police Officer, and we did not stop drinking until 2 in the morning and His shift started at 7. So we pull this girl over and we knew that she did the same thing that we did. My Buddy tells Her that if He Blew Higher than Her, she would be free to go. Well, Officer Brainiac blew a .12 while she was at .08. She won and we ran into her and her friends later that day after my Friend punched out and she along with Her Friends were laughing right in His Face. So, He asked them what they were up to for that night and that was the wrong thing to ask because we ended up in some dive joint and it was on.

What I am saying that do you know anyone who only have electric car? The EV can't replace gas powered car just yet.

No I really don't know of anyone that has an Electric Vehicle where that is their only mode of transportation. Like You said earlier, who is going to drive 250-300 miles and then have to pray that there is a charging station nearby. And then like You said, they are going to be there for awhile, like 4-6 Hours. Plus, and this is what I find Funny, it is going to take Coal Plants to provide the Assembly Line with Power, because Solar is not going to cut it. Now, on I-75 here in Michigan they have installed Charging Stations. And we do have an upscale Mall that is 5 minutes away and they installed Charging Stations. I think that they should have stuck with Natural Gas because then You could fill up just like we fill Propane Tanks. I agree with You on the EV all the way. Elon Musk has perfected His Vehicle Production and the Tesla is affordable. I have one, but I only drive it around town due to the fact that it really has not killed the Electric Bill yet. The only reason I bought it was my Brother had secured me a pretty good deal. But, I will take my Truck, Jeep, or Our Lincoln MKZ over it any day of the week. Another thing that they are not telling the People is if you get into an accident, do not touch the outside of the Vehicle because it takes about 2 minutes for the batteries to discharge and You don't need to get zapped. And that brings up one point, if You have to take the Vehicle in for repairs, they have to discharge all of the juice from the car and that takes up to 24 hours. Because it has to be done slowly. Personally, I do not see it becoming the norm for at least 8 years. Time will tell.

You compare the wrong stuff. Electric cars can't replace gas powered cars right now yet. Assuming everyone has an electric cars how do you have enough charging station? When you go on a 500 miles trip you want to wait for hours to charge your car?
There is no problem if everyone switches to mirrorless right now. The mirrorless can do just about anything a DSLR can.

Oh, I was not implying that Mirrorless lacks in any way shape or form when they go up against DSLR's. In fact, I really do like my new Z9, and I still use my D5, D500, and D850. Of course there is no problem for people to switch, in fact I hope that they do. And if you read my reply to CHG_CANON, then you will see the point that I was trying to make. People can't afford to buy a EV while they have a car in the Garage that they are still paying on. And do You really think that the everyday enthusiast can ditch their DSLR's for a Mirrorless? For them to try and switch over, it just might be unaffordable to them. There is no comparison with my Z9 vs. my D850. I get so many advantages of the Z9 that the D850 really can't match it. But, my D850 and even my D500 Crop-Sensor can produce Images that you could not tell if they were taken by any particular Camera that I have. The Z9 just makes my life a lot easier and that is all that I can say.

I'm a little undecided yet on using "Don't Quit Your Day Job". I think that they probably been overused, but isn't that what we do now in Our Country? I believe that we all overuse certain phrases, but I don't care as long as I get a Response like You just did here. I did quit my day job, but I sure did secure my Financial Future with a Great Retirement. Plus, while my Friends were out blowing their money on Clubbing, I invested my Coin and built something so I could quit my day job as you put it. But, I would really appreciate it if you could give me some more tips on phrases that I can use in the future.

I'm certain that like Canon, over time Nikon will discontinue various F mount models if they have not started doing so already.

That will be awhile, just read my long and drawn out reply to CHG_CANON. They probably have so many DSLR Lenses in Stock that it will be awhile before they discontinue their Lens Production. How many people out there that are Enthusiasts and even Professionals or "Serious Photogs" out there can afford to just ditch their Gear and switch over to Mirrorless. I had to because of what I do, but I still bring my D5 and D850 along with my D500 to the Party on Game Days, as I shoot for the Athletic Dept. of Michigan University. And they give us a nice expense account to do so. But as I told Paul, compare this to going Green with Autos, you can't just flip a switch and think that everyone will have the ability or cash to jump into an Electric Vehicle, especially when they are still paying on their Gas cars. So, it will come down to demand as it always has. I love my Z9 and the Z-Lenses that Nikon is bringing out for them, but put out $5,000-11,000 for that Z-400mm f/2.8 or their Z-800 f/6.3 or it may be a f/5.6. I think that is enough food for thought. I can see it now, Little Johnny wants to join the Photography Club at School and Dad takes Him to a Camera store or He shows Dad what he wants for Him to use at that said Club. Well, Gee Son I would Love to Buy that for You, But first let me pay for that $6 a Gallon Gas to run you back and forth, yeah that should explode like the Zeppelin.

Good, because they're not making more ...

Don't bet on that. Canon and Nikon will produce their Lenses of Yesteryear as long as there is a demand. And there will be for a few years yet. I will use this analogy that You may grasp, The way things stand as of now, they want us to buy and drive Electric Cars, do You agree? Well, they are still producing Fossil Fuel Vehicles, right? Well, do You think that the Auto Manufacturers are going to quit producing Gas Driven Cars at any foreseen future? No, and why You may ask, it is due to the fact that people cannot just dump their Fossil-Fuel Vehicles that they are still paying on and put themselves in the hole for an EV. So, it will probably be at least 8-12 years before EV's are the main source of revenue for Car Manufacturers, and I just bought my Wife a Tesla while I will continue to drive my 2019 Bentley. And I do have some Collector Vehicles that I keep stored in a Heated and Humidity controlled Garage. My Grandfather would turn over in His Grave if I parted with the 1967 GTO Convertible that he bought for me and he had only put 1230 miles on it but I added 9,000 to that and now I start it up on occasion and guess what, it runs on Gas just like my 1970 Trans Am which only has 6,000 miles on it. I recieveved these Vars due to Graduating from College as the First in Our Family to do so. W What I'am trying to say Paul, is the fact that they will still produce glass for DSLR's as long as there's a demand. Not everyone can shell out 6-8 Grand for a Camera Body alone, and then replace their Glass on top of that. Now, I had to shell out cash because of what I do. I used Nikon my whole life along with Canon when I was working as a Medical Forensics expert for the Drug Enforcement Agency. Every Year I would sit down with the Canon and Nikon Reps. and would listen to their questions on what was working Best for the Lab, My response to them was, just make sure that Both Brands can work together in Concert with each other. But when it came down to certain products such as Microscopes, it was Nikon all the way. So, as long as there's demand they will meet it plus how many Lenses do you think that they have in Stock?
