I'll be saying a prayer for the soul of my best friend from High School, Kenny, who was killed on his 3rd tour of 'Nam. Semper Fi, Kenny!

Another vote for Lowepro. I have one from the 1980s that still is serviceable (despite being around the world a few times). I've used others, Think Tank, etc., but keep coming back to the Lowepro. Presently, I'm using 3 Lowepro backpacks, one for an RB67, one for a Mamiya 645, and one for my D7100 with 70-300 mm lens, 10-20 lens, and 18-140 lens, plus an SB800 flash and assorted bits and pieces.

As I've gotten older, I find backpacks work better for me than shoulder bags/

Some great shots. Jim 70, I've got my helmet signed by Richard Petty. Remember that for several years we attacked car fires from the sides in case the bumpers would fly off? I photographed one arson fire that the bumpers were almost twenty feet from the car...abandoned on Ft. Bragg. Last week we had a collision with fire on U.S. 1 near Vass, N.C. that the driver was pinned by his legs and gotten out of the car by a collection of bystanders who literally saved him from burning to death. The car was fully involved by the time our engine got there and the guys had knocked it out by the time I could weave my way around traffic to get there.

Awesome, I remember the shooting bumpers - life was interesting then. Congrats on the helmet - what a great trophy!

Nice shpts. Interesting to see the old tyle New York leather helmets being worn, My Company retired them about 10 years ago and I was presented mine when I retired. It was a good helmet and saved me when a ceiling collapsed on me in a house fire. Always thought they had a certain style the newer plastic helmets can't match.

I think the color has a bit more character - but they're both great!

As an old time film shooter, who used to use the "sunny 16" rule until I got a Gossen meter, camera calibration is much less important to me than how the images turn out.

excellent points. Most of the newer cameras feel "plasticky" to me and I worry that if I drop one, it will crack wide open. My Nikon F100 and F5 feel much more solid. In fact, it was a running joke for many years that if someone tried to steal your F5, you could beat them to death with it, and then take a picture of the corpse. Just don't get that feel from modern cameras, let alone the "z" series,
