That would be great. I have had a couple of Canon cameras but thought if these lenses would work on a Nikon digital camera I would switch to Nikon. If there is a possibility of damaging a $1500 dollar camera it may not be worth pursuing.

Damage in what way? I will have the conversion done by a gentleman who supposedly specializes in doing so.

I recently inherited a Nikon F film camera with four lenses: a Nikkor-H Auto 28mm – 1:3.5, a Nikkor-H Auto 50mm – 1:2, a Nikkor-P Auto 105mm - 1:2.5 and a Nikkor-Q Auto 200mm – 1:4. I am considering buying a Nikon D750 with the intent of using these lenses. I understand all four lenses require an AI conversion to adapt them to the D750. The conversion will cost $100. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience using older (50+ years old) lenses on a current digital camera? Knowing my dad, I assume these were quality, high end lenses when he purchased them. Will these lenses give me the capabilities and sharpness I am wanting or am I wasting my money to do this? All replies will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

In doing research on Canon lenses I came across the DxOMark website where lenses and cameras are scored using certain criteria. The DxOMark scores for the Canon L-Series lenses I am researching range from high of 35 (Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM) to a low of 24 (Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM) with a 2 to 3 point difference for the four lenses in between. I have read reviews where the Canon L-Series lenses are some of the best available. For a non-professional photographer are these numbers meaningful or can only a discerning few photographers pick up the differences between a 35 score and a 24 score? Or, do I go with the fact that the Canon L-Series lenses are manufactured to the highest standards and create great photographs and just forget about the critical lab specs? Thanks for your input!

I understand that the SX60 HS has a fixed zoom lens and is not interchangeable. I am looking at buying another DSLR where I can attach a quality fixed or zoom lens.

I guess the decency aspect is the issue. I used to have a Canon t2i with a EF-S 18-200mm kit lens. The photographs taken with this lens appear sharper that those shot with a Canon Powershot SX60-HS zoom lens. Now that I have realized the limitations (aperture as well as sensor size) of Canon Powershot I wish I had held onto my t2i. Those limitations may play as big a roll in the lack of the image quality as the lens itself.

I am starting to research different lenses and would like to know whether to focus (no pun intended) on a prime lens versus a zoom lens. Thanks!
