I like this set of shot. I fun to watch these little bird in action.
What a treat to see these animals in the wild.
I like the second shot best both are nice.
Thank you everyone who posted to my Costa Rica Post. I went the less expensive route I decided to get a Dslr not a mirrorless camera.
I got the Nikon D500 and the Nikon 200-500mm 5.6 lens
I made this choice because I like the feel of the DSLR better then the Mirrorless I have big hands. I read a lot of good reviews about the D500 for wildlife paired with the 200-500 lens plus I have experienced how well the Nikon D3 worked for me a few years ago.
Yes a Sony A1 would have been nice or a Canon R5 but the cost was not worth it for me after I started to think what my purpose was fun photography. Out of my $10000.00 budget I still have $7500.00 left to buy other thing I may want.
So thanks again for the advice that you all presented.
Gary
I post earlier on this site for recommendation plus some other sites. Here is what I think I will get.
Nikon D500 $1200 used like new condition.
Nikon 300 2.8 vrii $3000.00 used ex condition.
teleconverter 1.4 have not priced yet.
my budget is $10000.00 but really would like to stay lower I'am not a professional just want good pictures in low light conditions weight limit is 10 pounds for camera and lens
Yes $10000.00 is my budget for lens and camera
I'm going to Costa Rica in March of next year for 14 days. I like to photograph birds I live in Florida where I go there is lots of good light. I been using a Fuji XT3 camera but it is slow to change setting and more for every day stuff.
My budget is 10000.00 I do not shoot video it not important to me. I want a camera and lens combination that is under 10 pounds because I like to hand hold and it needs to be able to fit carry on baggage of international flights.
It can be used equipment if in great condition. I do not want to rent because I'll be going on more birding trips in the future.
I'am ok with just a prime lens
Three of these turkeys were in my front yard
fuji xt3 100-400 f5.6 1/500 iso1250
I love shooting vintage film lens they are low cost and make you think about your camera setting. I love modern cameras and lens for my birding so I can get BIF. But sometime its fun to step back and use old equipment.
This was my first try with my new camera full manual mode on a tripod lens set to f5.6 ISO160 SS 1/15
Picture taken with vintage Minolta 50mm f3.5 macro lens hand just testing my fujifilm x-t3 camera with old lens that I have.
