What lenses fit your new full frame camera. I know 4/3 do not, but about the older, larger mount? Q410

I went to Linux Mint about 10 years ago and would never go back.

I would challenge -people with a spare laptop to try Endless for a while and then do some browsing with Windows and see how much cclutter there is. EVERYBODY is trying to sell you something!

I have spare, someone aging laptops that I fool with. My "work" laptops are put away until I use them for, uh, work. Too many saved files, etc., to use casually.

I have a Core i7 HP Elitebook that I moved over to Endless OS. It is "defanged" version of Linux, originally intended for low-spec PCs to help kids in underdeveloped countries..

But it took on a life of it's own.

Most Linux "distros" are for enthusiasts and are a bit ugly under the hood. Endless is as well, but you don't need to worry about it so much.

I am enjoying missing all the pop-ups, notices, "suggestions" from the MS Store and the fact that 100% of OS and appls are free. I can still use Google Docs, etc.

There are a lot of photo apps, but my main use is reading and viewing, etc.

It sure does breath life into an aging PC and can be installed alongside Windows.

I've always thought that for MAJOR family events, shooting a roll of real silver-based BW film and having it properly developed and washed would give you something that could be accessed 50-100 years from now.

Not at all sure about digital images. The computer industry took over the photo industry and their idea of a long time is 18 months.

If that is not a concern, film is pretty irrelevant lately.

Think math: stay out of crowds, places with poor ventilation and crowds and, oh yes, crowds.

The more people there are, the greater the chances of being near someone infected.

That is beyond my very limited technical knowledge. simple cord to cord is my limit. But I will give it a try. thanks

Apple and connector cords are not always available and third party solutions sometimes fail.

Can you UL photos to a free Dropbox account and then download them? Or Amazon photos?

I have no lenses like this, but I do guess that, given the complexity of modern menus, perhaps something is set wrong. Have you tried putting the camera back to "factory default" to see what happens? If others are no having the problem and THREE lenses you have are having the problem, that defies probability.

A pro friend used a certain lens, and another guy got the same one, but wasn't getting the same results. My friend put that lens on his camera and it worked just like his. In that case, it wasn't the lens, it wasn't the camera body, it was the other guy's technique or subject matter that was the trouble.

I do recall reading that turning off IS is a good idea when it is not needed.

So many variables!

I purpose a new section for AI pictures (I don't consider them photography). I have no interest in them and it would help me avoid even opening those posts.

I'd call it "AI image creation" if the final product is not a heavily modified photo taken by somebody.

If it is telling an AI program to create an "image of kittens hanging on the wings of the Wright Brothers first aircraft flying over Lake Huron" is basically a smart version of one of those carnival amusements where you squirt paint onto a spinning piece of cardboard to create "art." Or maybe clipping out bits of magazine images and making a whole new scene. Of course, that is done by humans.

An AI doctored up genuine photo is basically an extension of using polycontrast filters and dodging & burning.

While I do understand that portraits, model shots and centerfold type photography each require skills, I am reminded of the [alleged] comment from Truman Capote about some manuscript, "That's not writing, that's just typing!"

Most of the loosely moderated FB pages for portraits are hit with semi nudes, heavily tattooed glamor, staged model shots and other sexually charged images.

As one poster said, "A portrait should let you see something of a person's personality regardless of what that may be. A glamor or cheesecake shot is meant to display sexy or attractiveness regardless of what a person's personality may be."

Has there been a blurring of types of photos or just sloppy admins. Your thoughts?
