Excellent. I am still trying for that.

Trust me, it takes many attempts to finally get the one.

That is really a great shot IMO. Not only did you capture the flight shot, but the light is really nice. There is not EXIF data on the download at least on my computer. I would be curious about your settings and gear. Thanks for sharing and again, great shot.

Thanks so much. Yes, I have learned that finding good light makes all the difference in any type of photography. So in this case the sun had come out in the afternoon somewhat front lighting my bird feeder area. I get a little excited when that happens because I know I can increase my shutter speed without too high of an ISO. My settings were ironically 1/3200 shutter and 3200 ISO. 6.3 was the widest my Sigma 150-600 would go. The real trick I have found is nailing the focus. I use single point continuous where it can follow movement however birds move soooo fast. I actually took this through the open kitchen window hand held while sitting on a high bar stool. Finally, I did run it through Topaz Denoise to clean up the noise and Topaz Sharpening to add a little spark.

After many attempts I finally timed/anticipated this one resulting in good focus and great pose.

I wish he/she had turned their head forward a bit, but hey maybe that would have taken attention from the wings.

Blue Bird art? For sure. Well captured

Not quite art, but I guess I called it that because there was some denoising, LR and Photoshop adjustments, as well as clutter removal in the background. Not art, but it sounds better than fixing

At least this snap in the snow seems to capture the artful nature of the bluebird.

No doubt where the focus is. I like it.

Yes, he took off towards me and I felt like I got it with some quick movement of the lens. Doesn't always happen that way.
