I make my own frames, but I do wildlife and landscape and I do all my frames in a rustic rough grained wood that I get at Lowes, I buy the "dog eared " fence boards and rip them to width on a table saw, rabbet the inside and miter the corners, assemble them and then paint brown or black with a 50/50 mix of flat latex and water.

There are so many restrictions on them now that I haven't flown my Phantom 3 for quiet some time.

The Olympus EM 1 Mark ll will solve the weight and strain problems, and the images out of this camera are very good. And it can be had at a good price since the Mark lll came out a few weeks ago.

I have owned the EM 1 Mark ll for over 2 years now and it is an amazing camera, I recently purchased a Nikon Z6 to replace my D750 because I really like the mirrorless system, but I have used the Z6 very little. You mentioned some shots with the EM 1 Mark ll, you can view my page here, for the past 2 years 90% or more of these shots were with the Olympus.

Have you considered the Olympus EM1 Mark 11, an excellent landscape camera with the 12-100 F-4 pro lens. I quit shooting a Nikon D750 for the Olympus EM1 Mark ll and I absolutely love this camera and have never looked back, for the record I have the Nikon Z6, but rarely use it. Check out why some pros have switched to the Olympus system.

I used one everyday for a couple of years in the early 80's. It's used to shoot newspaper pages into negatives to be turned into plates for a press. the motor on the floor is a vacuum to hold the negative in place.

I don’t know if it’s a case of gas, seeing the writing on the wall, or both. I’m seriously looking into getting a Z6. I’ll keep my D750, at least for now, for sports shooting.

I want to know if anyone has gone from a D750 to a Z6, and if so what your thoughts are on the switch. I have the $, so that is not a factor. I will be selling my D7200 equipment, though, as it will only collect dust with the addition of the Z6.

Thanks for your comments,
Dana

I just recently sold my D750 and bought a Z6, I kept the two lenses for the D750, a Tamron 150-600 G2 and a Sigma 24-105 F4 Art lens, both work as expected, but I had to borrow a tap in console to update the tamron. My reason for switching is that I have been shooting an Olympus EM1 Mark ll for the past two and a half years and I fell in love with being able to make adjustments and see my shot before I pressed the shutter button. I liked being able to review my shot in the viewfinder instead of trying to shade the back glass to see if I got what I wanted. The Z6 will shoot up to 18FPS at the highest setting, and shoots fantastic high iso pictures. I happy with it.

I use an Olympus EM 1 Mark ll with the Panasonic 100-400 and like it very much. You can see some wildlife photos here: https://www.facebook.com/RayReederPhotography/

The Olympus micro 4/3's have great in body stabilization. I have a EM 1 Mark ll and can very slow hand held shots with no issues.

Hi Weasel!!
That last shot is very nice. Looks like you are one of only a few hogs to get good results.
Well done!!
P.S.: Thuds or Phantoms?

Thanks so much, the Olympus did a great job and I only used the jpg files, no raw files.

I have a few reflector telescopes, one of them with a 6” mirror. I’ve ordered camera to eyepiece adapters on amazon, to see what results may be possible through the telescope.

I have a 10 inch Dob scope and have an adapter for my old Nikon 3200. It does ok, but I had better luck using an adapted webcam and a laptop to shoot photos.

We had great clear skies in east Kentucky, but a temperature of 7 degrees F. I used on Olympus EM 1 Mark ll with a Panasonic/Leica 100-400. The articulating screen was a lifesaver and the tap to focus and shoot on the live view made things go a lot easier.

I have both the 14-150 and also the 12-100 pro and I can tell you in my opinion the 12-100 pro is tack sharp and an all around better lens than the 14-150. I shoot an Olympus EM1 Mark ll, and I shoot basically 2 lenses , the 12-100 F/4 pro and the Panasonic/Leica 100-400. I haven't had the 14-150 on my camera in over a year.
