A more classical figure from the studio
Thanks for your comments guys.
Having recently moved out of the studio to shoot, I've been working in ordinary houses and working with what I find rather than 'creating a set'.
I'd been shooting in various parts of the house, and the model took a brief rest sitting by the window. I suddenly wanted a silhouette, so I got her to turn and face directly out of the window, and as I zoomed out taking in more of the contents of the room, the more of a 'story' started to emerge.
The original images gave me a platform to then start building. Instead of the serenity, I wanted an element of angst ... possibly mildly threatening - hence the high contrast. The starkness of the pink versus the black creates an additional 'edge', allowing the viewer to imagine their own story ....
Working outside the studio again ...
I have only recently started posting my images here, and I would like to thank everyone who has viewed my work - and in particular, all those who have commented. I realise that my work is very different to the majority of images here, but all your comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated - so thank you. I will be posting many more.
Thank you for your comments. My background is in design and graphics - so my history pushes itself into my photos, hence the ongoing graphic content in my images. Glad you approve

I love this treatment. Nice blend of curves, straight lines and color. Something you don't see every day. Excellent!
Combining figure and graphics to create an imprint image
Moved out of the studio ... blending the figure with the immediate surroundings ..... a different context
Hi, glad you like ...
I work in a bit of a strange form for most people - every image is an experiment. I rarely use photoshop, instead I flit across fairly basic programmes from Windows and tools from Arcsoft. The bulk of my work, and which sells most, is based around the female form - but although each image begins life as a normal nude shot, I have no real desire to publish many of these. I want to present a different view. One that is about shape, or form, or colour.
It is actually quite difficult to quantify my methodology. I will definitely be posting more images, but if you want to see more and are on facebook - go to John Watts - Photo Artist ..... I would be interested to hear your views.
Hi, I am new to ugly hedgehog, but have been advised to post in this section by shine11 - c & c welcome
