The birds out here in Arizona nest in some wicked places that I would not get near. I have posted two photos to illustrate. It is amazing that they do NOT kill themselves.
You bird could be leucistic.
I've got some of those too. The first is an Avocet watching a airplane. The second I think was napping or had too many fermented berries.

She then asked what should she do. The ranger replied "I would walk over to the middle of that field and set down and cry!
