Beautiful, was lake frozen, color looks strange.

Hello Bultaco,
Thank you, Bultaco. The water is a river and the color is from the silt in the river and clouds. I may be a bit off in my white balance also.

Beautiful photo, Bill. I agree with Keldon. My trip to Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper was in the last half of September. Gorgeous weather, autumn leaves, no crowds, no fires. When you go I wish you as much good luck as I had. Still my favorite vacation.

Thank you Camera F4. It is still pretty much a wilderness up there. There was a grizzly bear in my campground. Not a cute black bear but a grizzly.

September and early October are great times to be in Banff. Lovely colours and fewer people. Banff isn't any more crowded than Yellowstone.

Thanks for the tip.

Always best to go in the 'off-season' which is our preference....nothing worse that the multitude of crowds to ruin photographs and enjoying the sites. Granted some of the best times (weather) are the summer but to us its worth the sacrifice...

I will see what the information says if I go before Memorial day. Thanks.

Also, the forest fire smoke should be on your list of why to cancel your trip to Banff. It is becoming a regular occurrence every summer.

Hopefully no forest fires but the best I can do is check before I go. Thanks for the tip.

The last picture of my trip to Jasper National Park, Jasper, Alberta.
Taken with a Nikon D810 and Nikon 24-120mm F4 lens.
I will be going to Banff next year but am worried about the crowds.
