Flashpoint Tripod?

Flashpoint Tripod?

My tripod leg broke yesterday and going out of town tomorrow and need a tripod. Friend of mine has the Flashpoint F-1328 with F-3 ball head. Haven't seen or tried it, but wondering if anyone has, or had this, and is it a decent setup??? I would use it with a D7100 and 70-300mm lens.

What does it take to capture a bummer like that in flight? AF or pre focus and patience?
