My girlfriend 'stole' my D7100 and mainly uses it as a video camera. I download it for her and convert it so she can use it on her Facebook. I know she has no idea what an f-stop is, what lens is on it, and she may not even know it is a D7100. She does know it's a Nikon, though! And I have no problem with any of that. She is happy!

Yep, he's the original linkmeister.

I follow his links all the time. I would follow a web page if he ever started one, he could call it "Jerry's Links".

Those of us who are of the conservative nature don't just work hard, play hard, are family orientated, raise awesome kids, have long relationships, give to our communities and so much more... We also cling to our guns, cameras and religion!

I have a D610, great camera without all of the bells and whistles of the D750. No flip out screen, no built in wifi, doesn't do quite as well in low light... But it takes incredible images for far less money. Here are two of my shots with my D610, one close up and one far away. Both were cropped, the moon shot was heavily cropped, and the sensor still delivers great results. And getting a D610 will save enough to invest in more glass.

I got to take care of grand kids for break. Woke up to a living room full of boxes, wrapping paper and packaging strewn all over. They went home last night with their parents but will be back Sunday to stay with me for the rest of break. Got a lot of pictures, love, and some neat little Harley Davidson trinkets.

I think you have it spot on, Norman--it looks good to me. This pic must be downloaded to bring it alive. :-)

Thank you, DOOK. Merry Christmas to you and Donna and all the Hogs!

Whatever you did, you did something right, Norman. Beautiful, clear shot on the download. I didn't even know that a Jade plant had blooms. Mine never did, and then it just croaked, so I don't think it was very happy. :-D

Thank you, Donna. I have the first blooms now opening, just in time for Christmas! I gave them a red background for Christmas colors.

I had that lens on my wish list for years! Mine came with a 50mm f/2. The cheapie.

Always get castigated for forgetting anniversaries. Mine might be a touch older, but ah, the silver hair.... ;-)

Yours looks better today than mine did when I bought it used in the early 70's! Which lens is that on her?

Mine was a silver hockey puck. I still compare all other cameras to it, she is a well worn beauty!

I have a new TV hooked up to my computer now and wanted to post a test shot here to see what it looks like on the upload. I think I have it calibrated fairly close now.

I just try to frame my photos in a pleasing way through the viewfinder when I am taking snapshots around fast moving family and friends. When I do landscape or micro work I do try to visualize the end result and then work on framing what I see in my mind. I will bracket my shots often on these subjects for the best exposure. I am not good enough with software yet to see the post processing steps to achieve my end results. Thank you for bringing this topic up, it will help me focus by considering more complete steps when I shoot.

You mentioned moving to FF with the D600. I bought a refurbished D610 and couldn't be happier with it. I use quite a few AI-s lenses and they work great as manual focus. The refurb D610 is listed at $1,149 at the Nikon website and other places like B & H. Good luck making this decision, it took me months to decide to move up to mine and I should have done it sooner! But be careful, it gets addicting. I will be buying a refurb D810 once the price comes down after the new body releases.
