I Googled their phone number, and came up with a page on their web site explaining why they don't have phone support.

Nice work! Do you think they deserve a different background. Even a light gray might be better than a harsh white.

I agree. And the first one looks too dark, especially against the stark white background.

Easier to pull the card for me.
Much easier. And probably faster.

I'd have to dig out the reader, except I don't have one. I keep the cable attached to the computer, so I just plug it in. How could it be faster?

Not much of a question (as usual)

Most suggest best practice is to use card reader to download into computer. Do NOT use the computer to reformat the card. Do that in camera later.

I have always just downloaded photos with a cable from the camera. It just seems easier than removing and replacing the cards every time I shoot. I've never had any problems doing it that way.

As long as you don’t try Abe’s of Maine. Based upon what others have written, I won’t give it another chance. As for 42nd Street Photo they are not as reputable as they were. Besides, their address does change to suit the moment.

there was another company back in the day called 47th St. photo which had a good reputation. 42nd St. Photo picked their name hoping to cash in on that reputation.

There once was a time no social media existed, so there was no way for people to share everything with everybody.

An ND filter will reduce overall exposure, but it won't necessarily reduce "glare". A polarizer might reduce glare. If you just want to reduce exposure, you can reduce ISO, or reduce aperture or increase shutter speed. Even if you want a large aperture to blur the background you can probably do it with aperture or shutter speed.

Okay, that was pretty weird, but he does have some of Jagger's moves down cold.

For all the critical acclaim given to Exile on Main St, I never got past the heavy audio compression and tinny vocal mix of it. I thought it was the worst mastered Stones album. I bought three copies of it — two versions of vinyl and a CD. I didn't like either vinyl, and the CD isn't much better. I really like Beggars' Banquet, Sticky Fingers, Get Your Ya-Yas Out, and Goats' Head Soup.

Quite a few remastered videos of their early movies and British TV specials have surfaced on YouTube recently. Here's an oldie but goodie:

Okay, that was pretty weird, but he does have some... (show quote)

I developed my love of music from car radios, cheap record players, and transistor radios. Exile on Main Street is one of my favorite Stones album, along with Aftermath (first LP I ever bought) and Let it Bleed. I'm glad I don't have a sensitivity to sound quality that would keep me from enjoying it.

Oh? ALL bridge cameras have 1000mm equivalent lenses? I didn't know that...

If you have questions about a specific camera, just start a new topic about it rather than drag up an old one.

Sorry Don and UHH folks. The Rolling Stones never were and never will be "jazz musicians". I fully understand them performing in New Orleans, but at the New Orleans Jazz Festival?

Mark

They'll be pulling it more people to hear the jazz. I've seen other genres at jazz festivals, especially blues. The Stones are blues based.

Brent...this is the 2nd thread fronm 12 years ago. Watch those dates!

Especially since the OP was asking about software, so 12 year old info is unlikely to be useful.

I don't know who these new posters think they are talking to. This is the only post the OP ever started, and he left in 2018. There have been numerous recent discussions about shooting the eclipse, so I can't see the need to drag up one from 7 years ago.

Yes, Like I said the Nikkor 105 is a great old lens but so is the 60mm micro. Less reach but it will stop down to f32.

I had the 60, but I found the working distance was too close. At the closest focus the subject was inside the lens hood, so I had to keep taking it off. So I got the Nikkor 105, which doesn't have that problem, and it stops down to f40. The 105 us much larger and heavier though.

I have watched a lot of The Great British Baking Show, and there seems to be an incredible number of traditional British baking recipes I've never heard of.

I was lucky to get to see Oppenheimer in IMAX 70mm film, as there are only 12 theaters in the world which can show that format. The old 70mm film was twice the size of 35mm, but the IMAX cameras and projectors run the film sideways so that the height of the frame is 70mm, and it is 3.2 times larger than standard 70mm. The image quality was amazing.
