Not much Visible light At :4:45 am......
I got up this morning at the same time and did not see the same thing, Civil twilight is only the amount of light given for a certain location based on the time of year and the location, Epehmeris (software) uses those data points and GPS to give you those times at your location.. Noctilucent Clouds are a real thing and one can learn about them by learning the background. I've been fortunate to be aligned with some airlines captains who fly overseas routinely and those that do it for many years see this phenomenon on Hi "Latitude Flights" when they cross the Atlantic or Pacific near the North pole ( more so during the Winter months ) Currently we are experiencing this effect at lower Latitudes. Oregon, Idaho, Washington state. etc . not to mention London England just the other night. Space weather.com will also show many examples of Noctilucent cloud formations." I hope this helps....
Not sure what creates the pattern, I believe there is still some wind that effects the design, and possibly the remnants of Micro meteors as they burn up in the upper atmosphere.
Never been to Wheelers, Will look it up.
Thought I would post here: Noctilucent clouds are very rare, and rarely show this far South, They normally are at the Higher Latitudes and center over the North Pole area. Meterologist claim that they are formed by dust that is left in the "higher Altitudes" from meteors and bind to microscopic water droplets that create the hi altitudes clouds at 60,000' to 450,000' ( please feel to educate yourself by Googling this rare phenomenon)
