Some PIR motion detectors have 5 terminals 2 are voltage in 12V + -, the other 3 are the relay contacts Common, Normally Closed and Normally Open so they would hookup to a trigger cable plugged into the cameras remote trigger.

when motion is detected it would activate the camera

here is one on ebay for 5 bucks

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Wired-PIR-Motion-Detector-Intrusion-Infrared-Alarm-Sensor-w-NC-NO-for-Security-/332319750430

it has to have NO and NC contacts

You can also pickup a cheap IR sensor for home security and run it off a 12 volt power pack to trip the shutter release less than 15 dollars

Query: Are you happy with the 'doughnut' shaped reflections in the eyes? These are usually associated with ring-light illumination.
Not really, but this is what I have to work with for now. I slave another flash off of the ring flash to light up background to give more depth. this you can see in one photo the ring flash with a stroke in it
The jumpers are probably going into hibernation as it starting to get cooler here and harder to find. Thanks all for the comments

In Hamilton a few years ago A cyclist said something to another person that made them think the cyclist took a photo of their child on his cell phone, and the outcome was the death of the cyclist. The thing was he never took a picture they assumed he did. The case is still unresolved to this day.

There are many nut cases out there and be glad she called the police and not a buddy with a pickup.

You need to stay until dark to get the falls lit up A tripod is a must if you want the smooth look to the water. Also early morning sunrises is good as the sun come up over the USA side of the Horseshoe Falls.

If you are on Face book take a look at the Niagara Area Photo Group or use this link to get some great ideas of different locations and style
