I love my annual February trip to the Merritt Island Wildlife preserve. I can see my photographic and identification improvement. Then I get to see the photos of these glorious birds. I do not remember what I ate for breakfast this morning but I still remember where I was standing to get these shoots.

I tried to clone out some of the darker smudges which were on the pond that is the background. Attached are some others from the same morning.

I went out to the settling ponds at the water authority. This one hovered for me for about 2 seconds.

I came here same time last year. This year there is a much better opportunity to photograph birds. Here are a couple of my favorites.
