Me thinks you might need another hobby to fill the empty time, Jerry. Glad to hear you got it all back together correctly though.

I didn't like using the other keyboard - kept making mistakes.

I have a couple of keyboars like that ...would you like them also?

Gee now this one is doing it tooooo

I was just wondering....how often do you take photos? Is it daily, weekly, weekends or just whenever? Thanks for your replies!!

Good question...I am disabled and can't get very far afield so on the times when I can get out I take a great many shots . Sometimes the changing weather or seasons and always people. I believe that just practicing with your camera and various settings help make you more proficient . but each person has their own drum to beat so it is pretty much up to the individual. Happy shooting when ever you can...above all enjoy.

I am considering a point and shoot that has manuel settings and would like to know if anybody knows which camera would be best. I currently have 2 dslr's and want a pocket camera for everyday use. Undecided between the Canon Power Shoot GI X and the Sony DSG Rx100. Anybody have experience with either one and can give me the Pro's and Con's. Thanks

I have a Power S. also has hot A590Canon that I carry with me all the time. It has 4x optical zoom /8.0 megs pixels, IS/ built in flash /view finder, Also has a manual mode and a movie mode. It uses rechargeable AA batteries x2 and I have a 32 gig SD. card for it. I find it an all round good small pocket camera.Hope this helps.

3:30am or 0330.
Must be a vet thing.

For most on here a poster might say 3:30am
For vets on here a poster might say 0330

For Military Officers, a poster might say Big Hand on the 6 and little hand on the 3.

Adrian, You have done some beautiful work with the Banksia nuts. How do you cope with the 'purple fuzz'? I've turned banksia before but spent the rest of the day scratching my nose from the fuzz I inhaled.

I'm delighted to find a fellow photographer/woodturner on UHH - don't know if there are many of us around, but it's a real pleasure to find another one out there, even if you are around the world in Australia. I look forward to watching out for further examples of both your photographic and turning endeavours.

I attach three of my own efforts. Feel free to contact me sometime if you would like to talk turning. In the meantime, keep up the good work.

Mick.

He seemed grumpy the rest of the day!!!

Nice photos. How close were you??

About 15-20 feet. They were in a place called Wolf Timbers in Bolivar Ohio. I was in with them and this grumpy one bit me in the butt. I did not realize he was behind me and I stood up. He is deaf and the motion startled him. Truly my fault, he did not break any skin. They are amazing animals!

probably annoyed by your comments ;) but nice shots all the same thanks

So there I am taking a few shots of a set of waterfalls with my wide angle. Just happened to glance down the bottom of the gorge and spotted one of the wild goats that frequent the area. I quickly ran to my bag grabbed my 70-300mm pulled the camera off the tripod swapped the lens and got two shots off of my fury friend.
Now Hogs be gentle as this is my first attempt at wildlife photography and I know its far from perfect but I just wanted to share the experience. What a buzz.

there you were and you pulled off a very nice shot thank you for sharing!!!!
