Kentee and AuntieM, purists be-damned! Those are great shots of a very fascinating area of our country. the wife and I spent several days with a Navajo family exploring the secret places within Monument Valley, places that even the tours and guides don't take you to. An experience we will never forget.

Tainkc Great, great photo capturing the pure essence of human emotion. Its obvious by the lines on the mans hands and face, that his has not been an easy life, and this was surely not the first time his daughter has had a run in with the law. Not to mention what is to become of the future of his grandsons.
Well done Tainkc, well done.

Sustersick, very rarely am I left bewildered by a photo. Image #1 has done just that, I keep returning to it over and over, with the hope of being able to identify your subject. Well done fellow Hog, well done.

Photog8, what a great set. It looks like you had a full day of fun and excitement. I am very impressed with your capture of the "Lone Rider", it reminds me of the opening scenes of "Dances with Wolves". Your sepia treatments on the other photos were nicely done, as was the addition of the soft focus in your capture of "Taps".
Thank you very much for sharing.

Dfarmer, not to get off topic, but I agree with you wholeheartedly. I am taking a class right now, and just finished a paper that in my opinion, described the difference between a Photographer who uses modern digital equipment to capture and process their photos, and the Artist who has traded their brushes and oil paints for a DSLR, and a copy of Photoshop. I have been called everything from a technophobe to a snob, I prefer "Purist". While I do not shy away from understanding all that my PP programs have to offer, and the occasional use of their special tools. I am a FIRM believer that less is more, preferring to "get it right" as it were, before I press the shutter.

I agree with you on the over doing it. Not my taste either but maybe that is why I haven't sold any. I am not going to compromise on over pp on my photo's. Do I adjust my photo's some, sure I do and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. There is a limit thought in my opinion.

LLucas, great set. Your comp is spot on, my only suggestions are the ones that you have already pointed out. With your permission I would like to try my hand at editing the distractions out, as I can use the practice with CS6 and the Content Aware tool.

Gschekel, this set was absolutely terrific! I showed them to the Mrs. and that started us reminiscing of our 25th wedding anniversary road trip that we took from MN to CA. 5700mi and only 300mi on an Interstate. We drove Pikes Peak in our WRX, (a car guys dream). We didn't get enough of the Pikes Peak area so we stayed an extra day, just to see things like Garden of the Gods. thank you for sharing and helping to bring back all those wonderful memories.

DB, I dig your take on "Before and After". So I thought I would throw my hat into the ring with my take on the subject.

Sustersick, what a great set, my favorites are #1 and #2. The colors on #1 are simply spectacular, and the B&W conversion of #2 has me wanting to learn more of the story. Thank you for sharing.
