"Pics of things of interest to guys"

I finally got this thing sorted out. A friend e-mailed me a bunch of pics and there were just too many to upload to UHH so I came up with this alternate solution. My two previous attempts were unsuccessful since Admin did not like the video format I first used, second attempt I had a copyright problem with the music so third time lucky. :-D

Very nice Brian, I did not see the one that said "trespassers will be shot and survivors will be shot again" My favorite was the "multitasking". But thats just me!

Ok, so I'm struggling to reproduce what I see on monitor in my print results. I did calibrate the monitor and my photos look great there.
I'm just looking to print some small glossies to view before I send off for big 16x24 canvas prints. and I have 2 issues---
1) the 8x10 looks muddy and blurred when printed. Top half of pic is fine (blues and reds), but brown and greens come out looking smudged.
2) I did send out thru a Walmart photo center for a 11x14 poster and the orange-browns were very underexposed compared to the sample 4x6 I printed at home on HP Photosmart 209m.

So my question... I can calibrate printer to sRGB or Nikon CYMK, etc, etc. what would be best?
I have attached the two pics in question. First is at Sedona and second is in Antelope canyon. I really just want two large canvas mounts for the den! I shot in RAW, so I can do some editing as needed.

with great shots like these why would you trust them to Wal Mart?

I live in Raleigh NC and have been taking snap shots with point and shoot and bridge cameras all my life. Now that I am taking my photography more seriously and moved up to a dslr (Nikon D5200) I'm looking for someone to shoot with and bounce ideas off of. I am looking for as much knowledge on photography as I can get.

Look into Meetup in your area. It is a group of like minded photogs in your area. Good Luck!

Until today I never experienced it since I use add-ons that kill anything and everything.

Today I am on an unprotected PC. I was on Amazon looking for an adapter for my power washer, found it, purchased it.

A few hours later I open UHH and... I see Amazon advertisement the very same tool I purchased earlier. This means that UHH is reading the cookies left by Amazon and in turn I wonder what else UHH is able to access.

This by-passes simple 'acceptable' advertising and enters the realm of snooping onto my/your local HDD. What else can it access? Past browsing history? Other more sensible information?

After seeing that I am just about to revive an ancient PC and use it only for UHH (KVM switch).

I/We need/want a clear information about what being accessed and by whom.

If you want to get rid of ads altogether there is a simple and free solution. If you are Google Chrome user, and you should be, there is a piece of free software called AdBlocker that can be installed and it works great. I have been using it for three weeks and I have yet to see one ad anywhere.

Hope this doesn't fall under the category of really dumb questions. Perhaps someone who has dealt with Costco Photo online can help.
Based on several positive comments by members on the quality of Costco prints I thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered an 8x12 print on line uploaded from LR. Photo was not cropped or dimensionally altered in any way. What I received was a high quality image with excellent color rendition printed on 8x12 photo paper, but the image itself was 5.5 x 8. Am I missing something here? Obviously I need to talk to Costco, but is there something I might have done in error to get this result?

If your prints are of value and you want good work do not leave it to someone like Costco, go to a pro at Adorama, Meridien or someone that takes their business seriously. My .02 worth!

Hi Hogs! Checking to see if anyone has contact information for a manager or supervisor in Nikon's Melville repair service center. I had an issue with my D3200, called customer service, troubleshooted the problem, not resolved. Sent it it for repair, received camera back with the same problem. I asked to speak to a repair service manager and was told I could not. I shipped my camera back, with a request to have it expedited (my only dslr and it's impacting my 365 project and holiday photos!!!), and was told it would be noted but there's no guarantees. I would love to speak to a manager in the repair service center. Does anyone have contact names/number/emails? TIA! - Karen

If I am not mistaken, wasn't this a purchase item at one time? I have down loaded it but I am wondering if anyone has used this software and what do you think of it?

I have been using it for a few months and I found it to be somewhat good for what you pay for. It does a pretty good job but it lacks most of the good tools that lightroom has but if you take good pics from the start then you do not need a load of software to make them better. That's my .02 worth.

So said Car & Driver magazine in 1991. Debuting at $399K (about $830K today), the Ferrari F40 shook the automotive world. Today, a pristine F40 can be worth over $1.5M.

Some other C&D comments:

· Its sticker price is $399,150.

· But dealers are getting about $700,000 for one, a bargain from last summer's peak price of $900,000 and change.

· The price does not include a spare tire or a jack. Neither is available.

· The price does include a free trip for two to the Ferrari factory in Italy for the purpose of showing the buyer how to drive it.

· It goes 122 mph in the quarter-mile.

· Flat out, it goes 197. You have our word.

· Insurance costs about $15,000. Every six months.

· The F40 meets all U.S. emissions and safety regulations. In short, it's legal.

· As soon as he got his, Formula 1 driver Nigel Mansell sold it.

· It pulls 1.01 g on the skidpad.

· Financed over five years, the monthly payment on an F40 runs about $12,000 a month.

· One buyer took no chances. Without even driving it, he sealed up his new F40 in the safest place available: his living room.

Oh yeah, I've just been playing with brushes and sliders in LR5... :)

When I got my Nikon D3200, I wanted a flash, but all I could afford was a cheap "dedicated" flash from Walmart. It works OK, but sure eats a lot of batteries. Well, today, I figured it was time to clean out that box of junk I've had in my closet for the past 2½ years. I had just crammed it with "stuff" when my wife left and I had to move. In the middle of the box, I found a soft nylon case. When I opened it, I found an SB800 in like-new condition, complete with the fifth battery attachment and a packet of filters. I have downloaded the manual, and now have a lot of serious reading and testing ahead of me. The moral of this story:
