The DOF issue is one that is done with the f-stop or F-setting om your camera opening up the Lens or a lower f-stop blurs things in the back ground I think and the Bigger F-stop makes the back ground sharp and in focus I think but all of this is done when your camera is in the manual mode or one of the prioresses modes the aperture is what you are working with making the opening to let light into the camera bigger or smaller, Linda I might have the two mixed up but one way is sharp and the other way is blur, just have to get into the manual mode and try both ways using the same object.

Well it is easy to cut and dice others and have such low esteem for your self that he as many others have never posted their shots learning or otherwise. We all learn and are to learn till the good man upstairs takes us from this world. Oh well I started in the days of film and there we did not have the luxury of taking a bunch of pictures because of the cost of developing the film, I took a whole bunch of film when I learned to develop and had the equipment to do so today we have computers with marvelous programs and we learn how to make better what was already good and make it great. You have a good eye and you seem to be headed in the right direction don't let a few fuzzy pictures dissuade you and you really have no body but your self to please .... onward and upward ... Don

These are a good start but ;look at the picture of the Bridge it is well composed and sharp as a tack ... But it seems to lean a bit when working with water try to square the frame and that way you don't have water running up hill or down hill it only takes a second in PP to square up your pictures.
Keep on trying and that way you will have an extraordinary picture in stead of a good snap shot.

I play my self and would love to have this in my parlor I just bought a New Hand built guitar it is nice but falls short of this one. I have never seen a total steel top in my days and the one that I have seen only have but the round piece in the sound hole in the middle and they used to play it by holding it on their laps and using a glass tube on their finger. Great Shot!!!

I would say watch out for what you ask for .... it sometimes can come back to bite you. I many ways I would follow with what was posted by Bramboy but I am not sure that the feelings should have been that harsh .... they were snap shots and that was all she was trying for to see what the camera would do .... with more shooting it will get better and for sure in Alaska I do not think that anyone can get a bad shot. Nice work Keep Shooting!!!!

The moon shot at nite is like shooting the sun in the day time so I would not open the aperture to max to start with as it get closer to the full eclipse then start opening it up a step at a time. And as you open it up them your speed on the shutter can become a little slower.

Is it the rabbit that lays the eggs or are the rabbits just the delivery personal of something bigger?

Thanks for liking my images...glad they stirred up old, good memories...I'm not a fan of roller coasters anymore...used to like them, but at 62 yrs of age, I will leave them to the youth.

I sure understand that and at 61 I don't want to start losing my cookies in front of the grand kids.

OK sorry but the pictures were not really that good I am sorry I am not saying that I could do a lot better but it seems that the OP should be a bit less color blind and I think that they just post SNAP SHOTS to see if the majority of the viewers will say some thing not to hurt their feelings. The truth hurts sometimes but it can help one to find the way to the top of his or her subject matter at hand and I feel that if you can not stand the heat in the Kitchen then get out. dpaulham your last post of the young woman was an improvement in color and in comp so you have it going in the right way. I meant what I said before but taken in a bit of comic relief if you or anybody took it any other way I am sorry I stepped on your one little Feeling.

That is one overweight cat!

They are emotional creatures, they are smart (if alien) and they have long memories. A lot of their activity is based on instinct and/or fear. They are all different, and they are nothing like dogs. But, a warm purring kitty on your lap reaching a soft paw up to gently touch your face is pretty nice! My cat does that almost every day, so I forgive him for his "bad kitty" moments :P

I really was not and am not really a cat person my wife is though and she is one cat short of being called a crazy cat woman ... 8 cats let us live in our house and there are at least half that many living out side. It seems that people have seen my wife's soft side and they drop cats off in the neighbor hood at nite and they just end up here where we feed and with a trip to the vet check them out and have them either spayed or neutered if they need it .... we had at one time as many as fifteen cat that lived inside and we found homes for a fair share of them... and I have one of the cats that sits on my lap every morning while I drink my coffee and he is a massive male part Siamese at he present he weighs about 25 pounds and not a bit of fat all muscle ... funny thing is that all of the cats actually get along most of the time. The wife well she says she spends more time in the litter boxes than the cats do... that is about an hour job every day.

Hello Sdaupanner

Not an expert in this but this is taken from Wikipedia

"Like the American Flamingo, their pink color is diet-derived, consisting of the carotenoid pigment canthaxanthin. Another carotenoid, astaxanthin, can also be found deposited in flight and body feathers.[9] The colors can range from pale pink to bright magenta, depending on age and location."

Thanks for looking.

Guess the money was and is under the hood well you have done a nice job anyway. You use a Fugi I have one that I bought a few months ago and I should start using it when the snow is gone .... I think once I make friends with it I should be OK. Have two Kodak's one is a real old one it has the 5MP but the new one is 16.5 MP and it is a nice camera BUT it does not have a view finder .... I am a little lost with out it.
