Thank you for your help. Earlier today i figured it out just like you said. Thanks again. I hope you are feeling better. Happy New Year. Stay healthy, safe, and warm, if you live in the North east. Take care. Mike

Hope I am not late responding. Was sick and just recovered. The trick using the Phottix system is put the flash, SB600 included in TTL or manual mode. Do not go to Remote on SB910 or wireless connection on SB600.I just used both and they work fine.

I just figured it out. Naturally it was my fault. I had the flash on Commander Mode. I thought I had taken it off, but I forgot to hit the OK button, so it was still on that setting. Once I took off of Commander mode and back on Manual and TTL, it worked fine. I feel like an idiot, and probably am, but the expression, "Haste makes waste," is certainly true, especially in my case.

The manual is always the way to go, but I usually have trouble finding it when I need it.

Thanks again for helping me out. I really appreciate it.

I do not have a remote trigger set as you are talking about, but should't it be that the flash is set to use the signal from the trigger receiver like it was mounted on the hot shoe of the camera? So basically don't you set the flash like you were shooting on camera?

Commander mode on the camera uses the pop up flash to trigger the remote flash, but the wireless just uses the hot shoe mounted transmitter to trigger the receiver right?

The SB-600 Instruction Manual can be downloaded from here ---> https://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13455/~/speedlight-sb-600-instruction-manual

See page 52 to set Wireless Remote Flash mode.
See page 61 to set channel and group.

I don't know if this will work with your master flash - the Phottix.

Thank you, again. I haven't had a chance to play around with it, yet, but will do and let you know. I have a few jobs lined up and was hoping to be able to use the 600, on remote. If not I'll have to use the commander mode feature. If that doesn't work, I have a friend who has a few flashes, I can use, and have as a backup. He usually comes along and acts as my assistant, which is very handy, because I hate borrowing equipment.

Thanks again, and take care.

Just ran across this posted on a web site... could your issue be the SB-600 going into standby mode and the remote trigger not being able to wake it up?

SB-600 for Wireless Flash
===========
The one other option working with the SB-600 is to attach a (radio) trigger on the flash foot, since there is no optical slave mode, nor a PC socket. When using radio triggers itÂ’s recommended to deactivate the standby mode. To learn more about wireless flash, go to the SB-600 remote flash section.

Thanks, Searcher. I'm using it on a D800, so it should work. I'll keep you posted. Thanks, again.

I have both SB600 and D70s and yes, the combination works fine especially in Commander mode.

On the Phottix website, the D70 and D70s are singled out as being NOT compatible with the Phottix system but Phottix does not say why.

I tried that, but it doesn't work. I thought there would be a setting in the menu, but I can't seem to find it because you have to press 2 buttons, at once, on the 600, and it's not easy to navigate the system, and can be frustrating.

There is also the possibility that the 600 is not designed to be used with a remote triggering system such as a Phottix or Pocket Wizard.

Thanks for the reply.

I have the SB600, and I am trying to trigger it with a Phottix flash trigger. I use the Phottix Odin system, with my SB910, and it works great, but when I try to use it with the SB600, I can seem to navigate the menu, to find the setting. The SB910, has a switch for "remote," so it very easy to set and use. The SB600, however, is a lot more involved to set up. I currently have the SB600, set up to use in Commander mode, and it works find it that mode.

I called Nikon, but the rep. I got on the phone, didn't have a clue to what I was asking. I guess I could Google the question, but I thought I would see what my fellow Hoggers, have to say.

Any help, as usual, will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I always remove it safely. I am very careful about following all the protocols.

My computer guy called me tonight, and said he was able to recover all the files, but he doesn't have a program to open the Nikon files. Tomorrow morning I'll go there with my computer and I will find out if they open.

Thanks again.

Right now I'm waiting to hear from my computer guy, to learn if he was able to recover the images.

When I used my software, it said the file was an "unsupported file type."

Thanks.

You're right. These were interior shots of a home, and so I can re-shoot them, but I am going to be backing up from now on, especially since my camera holds to cards.

Murphy's Law is always there-ready to pounce. As the expression goes-"Fool me once-shame on you-Fool me twice-Shame on me!

Thanks.
