A friend of mine who shoots a Pentax K-3 and I with my Sony A6000, decided to take some time off and enjoy the Sport of Kings. I though that I would post one of my shots of "four up", (all four hooves) off of the ground.

This set was passed along to me by a friend. I did not take them and he did not take them. Some with more courage than I did take them.

I use a tamron 18/270 with a Canon EOS mount and an inexpensive adapter to e mount. Hobby photography has to be fun not financially binding. I am not a carpenter and therefore I don't need the most expensive hammer in the store.

We spend a lot of time reading and talking about lenses, camera bodies, filters, adapters, ISO, apertures, focal this and focal that. When we are shooting, this is what is happening....................................

Do all of the adapters have glass? No. The inexpensive adapters do not. If you want glass, you must pay more. Your choice. I bought the least expensive adapters just to have the thrill of adapting the lenses to my A6000. Look for adapters with an aperture control and you will be able to use your lenses in the shutter mode.

Adapters are available for Nikon-M42 mounts. Check with E-Bay for the selection or contact your local Photo shop.

My wife and I were visiting her 93 year old aunt today in La Jolla, CA. On the way out of town, I spotted this church and was intrigued by the architecture. Unfortunately I was unable to get into a better position for the shot, but I took the shot I could. (Though the chainlink fence and across the freeway.) It's a good thing that I had my trusty A6000 with me.

If I had the money I spent on golf over the course of 15 years, I could not only have a D850 and D500, but every top of the line lens I could imagine. Just the price of a bass boat could buy a lot of good camera gear!! Problem is, once you think you have top of the line stuff, if you blink it's outmoded and depreciated.

I agree. GAS also applies to golf. Better driver, better putter, better ball. My bag is my first and my last. My taste in putters has changed. I stopped listening to locker room chatter. Cancelled my subscription to Golf magazine. Stopped reading Dave Pelz. (Too much science destroys the game.) Bag and clubs have gone into the garage. I bought a new tennis racquet. I bought another camera. Bought a bag of chips, some dip, bought another book from Dave Busch. March Madness is at full bloom! I'm happy.

My wife was having lunch with some of her friends. I decided to take a walk and brought one of my friends (SonyA6000) with me. I got into a light conversation with a local and we discussed the occupants of the marina. He told me that some of the boats moored in the marina are never taken out. The owners come down every weekend and putter. They dust, they clean, they have a beer and chat with each other......and then they go home! I guess, having more money than you need can be a problem!
