Close enough nice going

Thanks! I did get out of the car to take the shot on a tripod, but, stayed close to the car.

Great shot, David. I wonder if he gets used to all those bugs...somehow I doubt it.

Thank you. At least they weren't horse flies...you know, those big guys with a mean bite!

Wow! I should say so! What a fantastic shot, David! I feel sorry for him so plagued by the bugs...

Thank you! They didn't seem to bother him too much though.

David, this shot is fantastic, especially for us to see, but that poor thing, I can't even imagine what he's feeling...

That was my sentiments as well. I felt awful for the buffalo. With all those pesky flies, he had to keep his eyes closed.

What a snout-full! Interesting study.

Thank you. It is a bit disgusting. I shot this with a m4/3rds (Olympus PEN-F) camera with a 300mm lens (600mm equivalent). That lens is super SHARP! You can see the structure in the flies' wings at 100%, if you care about those things. :-)

Excellent capture, David.

Thanks! I was fortunate enough to have encountered a whole herd of buffalo grazing at Custer State Park, SD. He was relatively close to the road.

Very nicely captured! If it weren't for the egret in the background, the legs in the subject egret would have been lost in the blackness.

Dang...Until now, I wasn't sure I wanted to upgrade from my Mk III to the Mk IV, but your image is starting to convince me.
